Really looking forward to seeing this tonight. If only for what Andre and Van have to say. I am hoping there will be some positive things and new information.

well i have it set to record

small aside: no matter how some view me on the P&R side... i am known by everyone as a bit of a ham, very happy, always joking, quick wit, and often with the double entendre...

but for the last 9 mons and 20 days... i have not been so much. My closest friends, family, and co-workers all notice it... I play it off as "just giving it a break" but i know... i feel sad.

Someone told me it must be a great time to be a fan... i was like "huh no it is the worst time..." they tried to say "but think of all the stuff you'll get to hear from his vaults..." (at least they knew something) and i said "I rather he destroy it all and never record or release another song...never do a show and pull all his songs from being sold... than this..."

I wish I had DVR, I would have done the same... Just seeing his name with the title "How it really happened" when I looked on the guide to see what channel HNL was on, freaked me out. Don't think I can do this..

After watching an advanced screening of the documentary, it seems that more questions are raised than answered over the course of the special’s 40 minutes. Despite the salacious tone, dramatic background music, and leading questions, the documentary offers little in the way of new information regarding Prince’s passing. Instead, a cast of commentators — including CNN’s Van Jones, Sara Sidner and Alisyn Camerota; former MTV News anchor Kurt Loder; Rolling Stone’s Joe Levy; and an investigative journalist who researches celebrity deaths, Ian Halperin — retread known facts about Prince’s final weeks, including the Piano and a Microphone shows he played in Atlanta on April 14 and the emergency plane landing that grounded him in rural Illinois while making his way back to Minneapolis.

From one of the comments in the comments section of this story:

"Warner Brothers paid Tyka and she burned the will."

Sigh. neutral

Geez.
Some idjits don't realize that MN law requires an attorney's involvement, and that attorney is required to produce the will upon the client's death.
The ONLY place to look for a well is in Patrick Cousin's files.

Poor Tyka and poor everyone else being constantly defamed without proof.
I doubt P intended people to be harmed in that way.
People should be ashamed of themselves.

Basically what happens is a producer makes a series and sells it. In this case to HLN.
Like I said before, I'll watch it so I know what I'm complaining about.

20 minutes in:
The show itself seems fine BUT half the time is taken up with other tabloid-ish promos.

It's like they have no sponsors for this.

Okay, feel better knowing Prince fams are watching this with me...The beginning was kind of rough but I'm doing okay. I hate hearing about his death and the drugs but I like hearing the snippets about his life. I wish it wasn't so tabloid-ish. Love seeing how gorgeous he looks in the clips. eek I could stare at that man all day...

I'm watching this and it's pretty obvious that he didn't have the flu; he had something more serious. It's also clear that he wasn't very enthusiastic about receiving medical care, even if that care was necessary.

One of the consequences of having the freedom to make decisions is that a person may not always act in his/her best interest, and at times may make decisions that undermine self-preservation. Unfortunately, these decisions have consequences for the person who is ill, as well as those who love the person who is ill. In some cases, the consequence is death.

For the people that think he was terminally I'll, how do you explain no prescription for pain meds? No matter what ends up killing you, it is painful, and doctors are happy to help people die as comfortabley as possible.

Pretty truthful. Nothing we didn't already know. Did raise a few questions. Can kinda see now that he wasn't well. His cousin said he and his family was surprised to see how much (little) Prince weighed when he died.

Agreed. IMO, it was short on story and omitted too much. We, the org, have surmised more than what was shown.

Yes, it was empty. Things we already know. That's why I just made the decision to just try to enjoy the clips of him. I focused on his pics and the stories I already knew and tuned out the rest. I was desperate just to see his face on t.v.. Pretty pathetic but there you have it...
