With regards to M1, I don’t mean to be insensitive, but heck she got divorced 20 years ago, why did she keep the stuff that long to begin with? For the value to appreciate? Have any of you gotten a divorced? Heck, I threw the stuff out, sold the engagement ring, went to therapy a few times, thanked my lawyer… then got on with my life. What is the big deal with her selling stuff from 20 years ago? I think the disturbing; calculating and somewhat creepy part is that she still had the stuff. Did it hurt him? We’ll never know, but he had 20 years to address the issue with her if he wanted the stuff back. Maybe in her book will she will provide her views on the topic.

According to her ,there was no bad blood bewteen the two so it must have been strictly business when she sold it. When did she last speak to him? Years ago?

Who does Mayte have bad blood with?

Carmen Electra for one. Probably Appolonia after that one post about Mayte's tell-all. A load of others and angry fans....

Eh, if my first divorce was someone famous and sexy, I'd a hung onto the diamond ring and love notes, too. Pull it out when I'm old and think: yep, I had it goin' on in my day. Not like divorcing your average blue collar jerk x-husband Joe who drives a truck.

According to published reports, she gave him her virginity, tried to have his kids , and lastly , contributed to lots of his live music performances .That ring was a symbol of many great memories.Manuela on the other hand...

Is it that Carmen has issues with her or does Mayte have issues with Carmen? That's more of what I mean, who does Mayte have issues with? She always comes off as someone who doesn't have a big problem with anybody. I'm just curious, what I missed?

Why was Carmen excluded from the memorial ceremony in LA? If Mayte has no beef with her, she would have made sure Carmen had been invited.

In Hollywoood exes, she got into a heated argument with another ex-wife, she also posted publicly about feeling disrespected by Prince himself when asked to pay (no matter how much one can accuse the manager at a time), she retaliated at Wendy Williams (rightfull so) for the harsh comments about Prince and their son, ...yeah you missed quite a bit but keep thinkiing Mayte bears no harm and it is everybody's fault...and keep accusing her haters for whatever false accusations you might think of like calling them bootleggers or stalkers. It sure will make you feel better.

So Prince married a nobody with nothing who contributed nothing to his musicianship, he helps her start her own business Altru, inspires and motivates her to start her own charity, opens up a world of opportunity for her in which it got her married to another celebrity and she had to gull...the nerve to ask for $45,000 a month?

Not exactly. She was the impetus for the celebrations, the npgmc websites, his engaging with fans in a closer manner.

M1 was a single mother, seemingly living pretty modestly the month before P died, and not working.
Maybe she needed to put some food on the table.
Maybe she couldn't get thru to P, and did what she had to do/ sold only thing of value.

Almost 20 years divorced, expensive ring laying in a drawer somewhere? It's a no brainer. I honestly don't think P would have been upset. She was selling items to raise money to realize her dream of building an animal shelter. I believe she withdrew the items from sale...Now I would imagine the money from her book will be going to the same cause.

Well, if she was selling items to raise money to realize her dream , yet withdrew the item from the auction, did she realize her dream eventually? I thought the "shelter" was there wayyy before she solicited the auction? She had a pile of cash after she sold that monster gift of a house he gave her, so I'm not sure what was the urgency to sell off the ring .Unless of course, she blew that money in short order. Either way, it was hers to do as she please. You can always donate to her gofundme page for the "shelter", just in case the ring didnt get sold.

We morph things around here. People sometimes hold extreme religious discussions in a Prince's sexuality thread. I've seen it! Please dont alert the authorities and have them lock the thread. Not many left that are exciting.

I can multitask and shift right on over to Manuelita but I was told by inside sources that I was too harsh on such a sweet delicate flower. Now, if you tempt with just the right words, I might give it prayerful consideration and return to....

I honestly don't care about the ex-wives. I thought it might have been nice if, in a will or trust, Prince left money for college for Mayte's daughter. I know that sounds goofy, but she got the worst of him IMO and this would have been a way to make amends.

That sounds absolutely insane. What responsibility does Prince have towards her child just because they MAY have had a rocky marriage? Between her belly dancing classes and her book she should have plenty to put towards a college fund. Where do you people come up with this stuff?

He had no responsibility toward her child. But sometimes, when making amends as he was in the last part of his life, he might have made an overture to someone he treated very badly. JMO

"Marital standard that cannot be recreated with money". Amends are not compensated by a college fund. Mayte chose to have a child, she will take responsibilty for it....like Mani is doing.

Never thought about the memorial, of course I don't know who was there, who wasn't and who was invited so I guess I wouldn't know anything about that. But yeah Carmen should have been invited if she wasn't.

I saw the Hollywood exes, I saw Wendy Williams. I completely ignored the courtship of Mayte and Prince so I've never been sold on the greatest romance and looking back I'm kinda glad I wasn't looking. But in doing so I know I missed some things that I'm curious about now. With the exception of that tantrum on the Hollywood Exes I've never seen aggressive behavior out of Mayte doesn't mean I don't think she's capable of it just that I've never seen it. Heck I expected her to come out hardball on what Wendy said about her and she didn't she remained basically passive.

Personally, I don't wish either ex-wife any ill will, they are part of the whole Prince storyline and I respect that but I'm very curious between what I've observed versus what I'm reading.

SInce we're morphingbetween M1 and M2... Who is to say that he didnt make amends without having to pay out? She is not "entitled" to one shekel. I don't think people remember where she came from financially. She was well looked after when she was with him . Hoards of women would've traded places with her in a heartbeat to get what she was getting. "Don't da baby have a daddy"? Sheesh.

It was more than that.

She wanted the "Prince life" - but she also wanted something he (apparently) couldn't give her: a baby.

I really, truly think that was at the heart of all of it. Back in the NPGMC days, when she was starting her charity, there were things posted about it and she would say stuff like, "One day, my children will..." etc. etc. I'm sure there were other factors (it's never about just one thing), but the lack of children-bearing potential in that relationship had to have been pretty big.

She seems to have been strongly motivated to keep everything she had with Prince - and get what she didn't have with him subsequently. But you can't have it all.

[Edited 1/17/17 9:05am]

The fact that Manuela had two children in her subsequent marriage seems to confirm that...
