What are your plans for April 21, 2017

I know that's a day many are dreading, the one year anniversary of Prince's death. It will fall on a Friday, will you make it a long weekend and spend it with friends? Make it a special day at home listening to his music? The first year after a death is always the hardest as you go through the holidays and landmarks in time. I believe it will get much easier once we all pass this painful anniversary.

I hadn't thought about it but thanks for bringing this up. It's a reminder for me to request the day off. Not sure what I will do but definitely want to honor him in some way.

Maybe try to get tickets to Paisley Park. I want to take my niece. She is only 5 but she loves Prince and purple is her favorite color.

Working, loving, living. Just as Prince would have done and wanted.

I'm in CT, which is always the blah zone between nyc and Boston. I'll be looking for an event in either city that day. I'm hoping to be with purple fam, I don't want to be alone.
And the MUSIC continues...forever...

Yeah I was curious if people planned to be with others that day. I may take the day off. I'm planning to have a Prince charm bracelet made up by a lady that makes jewelry. She makes "funky" bracelets with any theme you want. I'm making it mainly to wear to Paisley Park in July, but I'd like to have it by April.

Take the day off from work, smoke weed all day, and listen to an awesome Paisley Playlist that I will probably compile a week or two prior. That is my plan for the rest of my life. I have no intention of ever going to work on April 21, never again. It's a holiday in my eyes, wifey agrees (or at least understands).

Make it so, Number One...

Stay home, smoke weed all day and never work on April 21 again. You have one understanding wife.

I have a half-day at work that day, purely by chance. I'll probably take the whole day off - but not because it has anything to do with Prince.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Listen to his music, watch his movies and have a drink in his honor. I want to celebrate his life and career, not dwell on the fact that he's gone.

Forever In My Life, forever in my heart. I love you Prince Rogers Nelson heart

It will be a bittersweet day - I will celebrate my son's birthday (he was born on the same day that Prince passed away and his first name is Prince...the name was chosen months in advance...I am contemplating a seperate post on this experience when I have some free time). I will also reflect on life in general and on the life of my 'idol', Prince...
