the tennis court is still visible on the Galpin property if you look at satellite view. The house is gone, of course.

He had a tennis court on his property but he never played tennis. Then somebody would say, “Oh, I want to play you.” So Prince would send for his tennis gloves, was completely insane on the court and would beat whoever he was playing.

What are tennis gloves? confused

Well he liked Table Tennis (ping pong) so it comes as no surprise to me that he was good at normal tennis lol It's just the same thing but scaled down, right?

You wear them if you don't want blisters on your hands, especially if your hands ate valuable for other reasons. smile

I'd never heard of tennis gloves but when I read that all I could think was that it figures that if such a thing existed P would have them.

He was so very alot.

lol

Ah ok. I follow professional tennis and have never seen a tennis player wearing gloves before hence my confusion.

As a big tennis fan, I have an observation and a question.

First up, I don't really think there is such a thing as tennis gloves. I sometimes wear gloves if I play in the cold, but while they stop my fingers snapping while I warm up, there is no way anyone would wear them to improve their game. So if he was good in gloves, I assume he'd be an even better player without. Probably true on guitar and keys, right?

Second, I often wondered what brand and model of racket he played with. This can tell you a lot about what kind of player someone is. I would looooove it if he played with a Prince racket ("Prince" being an actual, well respected producer of quality tennis stuff). Anyone ever get a look at his axe on court?

Everybody probably knows this already but why was the house torn down?

P never talked about it. But like when he tore down the purple house after his dad died, it was probably more of a privacy issue.
In this case, it probably involved the m2 divorce, his move to LA, maintenance costs, and him not wanting people creeping around the house.

Then there's the rumor that m2 wanted that house, so he tore it down and had it loaded into trucks and shipped to her.
That's one of the delicious rumours. LOL

Did Prince ever explain why he moved to LA in the mid 2000s? All I remember is sometime back in 2009 local media reporting that he was back in Minnesota.
