Me too!!! It was extremely cool to see him perform "Paisley Park" at Paisley Park!!!

Remember he let us sing the hook? The entire room of us singing "paisley park is in your heart" in unison. it was fucking gorgeous.

I don't argue with people about my opinions. Scram. I said what I said.

Yes I remember one sound check (I can't remember where though?!) where he led the crowd to singalong with Paisly Park but they all kept messing up the chorus! He made lots of fun with them biggrin

He played it a lot during the sound checks for the ONA tour. I heard it in Dallas. He rocked it.

There was the time on the ONA tour (I think an aftershow) when he asked if anyone in the crowd knew the lyrics to Paisley Park, a guy came up, they had a funny little exchange as to whether he really knew the lyrics, the guy then messed up pretty quickly, P stopped the band on the one, made fun of the guy and sent him on his way.

It's the reason why, when given the opportunity to get on stage and sing Play That Funky Music some years later, I declined, knowing that I would mess it up and Prince would stop the band on the one and make fun of me. Now, I would take the risk just to have the story biggrin

He played it with 3EG in Manchester in 2014. Also at one of the European shows he said this during Purple Rain: CwqQomdUkAEZav-.jpg During live shows did he normally as people to come to PP? It seems kind of eerie now, especially the part where he says if you come to my house I need you to take care of it. 😢

When people talk of Prince's presience and advance-thinking as 'eerie' these days, I am surprised.

Weren't y'all listenin earlier?
I thought everybody was getting all of that throughout his career as one of the delicious things about his muse and powers to engage at subliminal levels as well as explicit ones.

I mean, I remember wondering about the credits of the SOTT movie quoting something about Brother Maurice and squirrel meat. And when I heard those words on The Black Album, I was 'where did I hear that before?'
When I finally saw the movie credits again after several years, I whooped with appreciation,. Admittedly everybody else in the room at the time thought I was just ravin' when I tried to explain.
This, by the way, I think he got from Paul McCartney, who, back in the early seventies sneakily finished one album with a snatch of the opening track on his next! I'm sure it wasn't an original move by him either. Such tricks have been the love of many an artist throughout history.
But Prince took it all the way beyond his passing.

The guy was vibin it baby and still IS

It's this kinda stuff that I look forward to more of.
And he doesn't even have to be alive to guarantee it razz
