No. The horns on Stare with that heavy bass line = supremely funky; on Groovy Potential = sexy smooth

I'll echo what everyone else has said, the horns make the album what it is. great

I thought the horns were the big reason the album turned out so good.

.

It helps that I like variety in instrumentation a lot though. Some people have an image of a guitar as being the coolest instrument and I don't feel that way personally.

.

With that said, I bet if he had used synths instead he'd have been seeing reviews about how "wow this album just sounds like Prince... again".

It's funny - I like the use of a large horn section better on studio recordings than live. And I'd rather listen to Prince's guitar playing live than on most studio recordings.

I like HNR2 for the horns and the warmth throughout. I also listed to Da Bourgeoisie this morning - the "finished version with horns - and thought it would fit in well on HNR2.

Horns are awesome. Horns replaced the synths in his music when synths became outdated horns make every Prince song awesome

Horns replaced synths in his music when he forgot how outdated horns were, and that using them made his work sound like everyone who'd used them before, while continuing to use synths would make it sound like everyone who'd copied how he used them.

.

Wait... did I read that right? Horns are outdated?

.

Horns are timeless.
