Yeah, at first I was thinking of the Lorring Park Sessions... but when I googled "Larrabee Prince" I see no info other than much of the NPG-Maxi Single was recorded at Larrabee Studios?

Larrabee Sessions - the recording session at Larrabee Sound that yielded the songs released on the New Power Generation maxi single. It was a three-day session in September/October 1990 where Prince worked and reworked "New Power Generation" into a variety of tracks.

I do not know the source, but I can usually hear the difference between tweaked sound and new sources, and I'd say this is a new source.

I thought so. There's a link going round for "new leaks 2017" that has this bundled with "For You Demos" which have also been around for years, and a supposedly new rip of If I love U 2night that sounds like shit (not "cats ass" shit, but worse than whats out already imo)

I actually got that New Leaks 2017 collection the other day but didn't even get around to listening to it as it all seemed to be previously available.

Checking out the UnCamille stuff from that folder now. It sounds like someone has slowed down the 'Camille' tracks to the point where Prince's vocals sound normal. It's an interesting experiment. I played around with Or $ at slower speed years ago, for a similar effect. In the end though, like the rest of the New Leaks 2017 collection, nothing "new".

I do like Evolsidog's artwork for this Larrabee set. I'll have to compare quality later, but I have these tracks spread across several different bootlegs, so, if the quality is at least as good, much less an upgrade, I welcome this "release".

That said, the back cover does say "Remixed by Evolsidog Productions 2010", so, looks like this specific set has been in circulation a long time, and, the word "Remixed" suggests to me that these have been tweaked by the producer of the bootleg.

I hope those NPG maxi tracks are indeed better than what we had. I love them! I believe one track at least was missing though (another cut of Oobey Doo) and u4tunately it doesn't seem to be there. I'll see how it sounds when I have it.

Also, I'm glad you started the conversation. It spurred me to look closer at the Larrabee set and once I get around to comparing qualiit, this may even be my go-to version for these tracks. Worthy topic!!

I've never found a copy of the extended Oobey Doo. Would love for it to leak...

There's a lot of not very good songs there... Is Prince on vocals in these? If he is I'll chase them, if not I might pass.. (Thank you for the information though!)

Robin Power / TC Ellis / Tony M are on vocals on the tracks where you'd expect them. It's not all Prince.

I also just saw today in a group where people shared stuff that some dude had had no better idea than to assemble and share a new version of Crystal Ball, and he's already being hailed by everyone for doing so, while there IS a real tape copy of it that has surfaced about 2 years ago and is widely available instead.

I wish people would quit polluting the internet with all those fakes or so-called improved versions. it's already confusing enough for us to sort out fake from real, and improved over older versions of the outtakes (some of which there's already been 3 or 4 different leaks over the years, with various sound quality), without some fans playing pranks on us and adding to the confusion.
