The influence of Prince's guitar style

Prince always said his guitar style was closer to Santana. Would have liked to have heard him cover black magic woman. did he ever cover one of his song live?

It's time they learned the difference between lazy and look

They both have 4 letters but are entirely different approaches to getting answers

It's typing here or typing somewhere else. But it's sort of their M.O. - flood the forum with a bunch of mundane questions that can be answered quicker than vying for attention on prince.org.

Up next week: Why is the sky blue and was it purple over Paisley Park? BBWWHAHAHA

There is no glory or notoriety in creating a fake name on a site full of groupies that don't matter to me at the end of the day I'm sure you feel the same way too. Sure somebody can google a question if I want I can ask a question a thousand times may get shut down but thats a person choice. Not some faceless fan. Prince belonged to everyone not just to some arrogant sarcastic assholes.

You guys want attention. It's okay to admit to it. We all do to some point.

That's a lie, because everyone around him said he read the Org all the time. Damarius, Tyka - many have said that. He's even posted here, which has been backed up the moderators.

Regarding the question on the ease of googling versus asking the question on a forum is that forums offer the opportunity for further discussion on the topic of interest ... which is the purpose of, and why we are members of, this forum.

A question like this can start a great discussion on HIS guitar style/tone/gear/influences/etc. I didn't take his question as being lazy, but as a way to kick off a conversation.

With that said, IMO his closest "in the style of" Santana solo is The Everlasting Now.

Its not even really all of that. Its coming to the site and stating the oh so obvious and often discused "Prince plays guitar like Santana" lol.

It was like the op felt he came up with some new or inspired revelation lol.

I do think, like anyone with some insight, he could see past any bullshitters, whackjobs, and people minus a few brain cells. I do believe he loved his fans, and was curious a lot about what they thought, or said, etc. It's a more raw source of information on people's feelings, feedback, etc., than a critic who had only a superficial knowledge of his music. We're Prince fans. We know more than we should about him. So for that, I think he appreciated, to a great extent, a site like prince.org.

Of course, I can only imagine the times he rolled his eyes at some of the people that have come & go on here, and the things they said in pure hatred (opposed to fair critique or unfiltered view) about his music.

I sorta wonder what he thought about folks like Bart.

Does it even matter at this point?? The fact that the whole subject is common knowledge has become the topic now. Criticism has a funny way of doing that. I loved the man to death too, but through years of existing on the internet I'm sure the topics concerning Prince have become a dead horse for those whose opinion seems to hold weight. It's silly because to promote another source for info is essentially killing the org by not allowing new fans to get in on facts no matter if they are old or new
