Video: The FANTASTIC "School of Prince" exploring Prince's AMAZING career

On December 9, 2016, "School of Prince" was held by the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.

"Writers, musicians, and cultural critics gather to explore the forty-year career of Prince. Drawing on original work, music clips and the emerging field of Prince Studies, cultural workers will consider the impact of Prince on literary culture and beyond."

Nice! I love panels discussions like this! The Billboard panel featuring Questlove, Spike Lee, Touré, etc. was a bit akward to me, but everyone completely nailed it here. Particularly Ernest Hardy, whose book "Blood Beats: Vol. 1 - Demos, Remixes & Extended Versions" is a must read!

Good stuff, thanks for sharing! cool

A former colleague and I saw the University of Salford's call for papers from Dr. Kirsty Fairclough, but neither of us are able to travel due to upcoiming deadlines and other projects. But, I hope that it is filmed as well. My former colleague also has a paper on Prince that will be published in the Journal of African American Studies upcoming speical issue on Prince, and he has two poems that will be published in the Delaware Poetry Review speical issue of poetry inspired by Prince. So, I'm happy to see so much academic work being done around Prince's legacy. We both are familiar with Middle Tennessee State--co-sponsor of the U of Salford Conference--as my colleague was the keynote speaker for their Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., Celebration several years ago. So, hopefully, there will be something in the USA later.
