Prince's guitarists must not network well.

GE Smith is playing with Roger Waters and it got me thinking: why isn't Miko or Levi Seacer in some big band? they play real great but don't get the jobs other guitarists of a certain color get. Could it be racism?

I do know some of those dudes were hard to work with.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

That was Sonny Thompson, Michael Bland, and Tommy "Barbarella" Elms. They were in Nick Jonas & The Administration. Sonny actually came in for the tour and replaced another guitarist. Michael & Tommy were already in the band w/ a few others.

Sometimes folks might just want to do something else, be studio musicians, write, or produce.

.

Miko and Levi played with him 20 years ago. People don't hire older musicians as much to be in bands.

Exactly, unless it's an older musician. However, people like that still get studio work, but they aren't always on the insert of the album. And some might not want to tour in their 40s or 50s anymore.

And just as a note: Sonny & Michael were still working with Prince off and on (mostly off, but here and there) up through 3121.

Wasn't Bland on drums when Prince played Dreamer on the Tonight Show? Did Prince really have a set band between Musicology and the European shows in 2010 or the Welcome 2 shows?

Levi has toured with Raphael Saadiq and Jody Watley, among others. He fell ill during a soundcheck in 2015.

Wasn't he interviewed this year post-April 21? I hope he's doing ok now.
