--- Because if Universal is getting money from the estate this is one of things they should be doing. I suspect that since Prince hired web sheriff Universal was falling down on the job before now they are being watched by the court. People who will not buy product if the can listen and look for free. In addition, he wishes are not being honored.

Tell that to ADELE - her album from 2015 has been Diamond certified and yet her videos are readily available on her official Youtube channel - her albums are also available on Spotify - admittedly she did delay releasing "25" for streaming which was a smart move and worked to her advantage.

The way to go for the estate IMO - official Youtube channel, releasing vault material and remasters on CD/vinyl/download stores and older releases available for streaming on Google Play, Spotify and Apple Music.

No, the way to go is a YOUTUBE Red Channel and the estate making CDs, Streaming and Vinyl avalible from whom ever will pay a good price. You realize that streaming pays pennies and Youtube pays nothing.

Adele does not have estate taxes that need to be paid or a 65, 000.00 facilty that needs to be maintaied.

You are also talking about videos that people can already see for free on T.V and cable outlets.

We are talking about bootleg videos and audio that should be avalible for buying. Not to mention Universal should do what they are paid to do and not get a free ride from the estate

Ironically this is actually getting in the way of the campaign too. Initially Prince4Christmas was created to encourage sales to help Prince's music get into the Christmas charts, thus increasing its chance to be exposed to more people, including newer generations and so on.

The video I had been using to promote one of the songs was nearly instantly removed from YT after it appeared in one of my FB posts. It was not even the whole song just the main part of it to give a chance to some people to hear it before they download it (i.e. actually PAY for it) next week. These include friends of prince fans who joined in to support the campaign and who are new to Prince's music. After all, if it wasn't for that penfriend of mine who used to send me those bootleg mixtapes when I was younger, I might have never become a Prince fan and subsequently gone on to buy all those Prince albums and concert tickets.

So what really is the point?
I personnally think it is a very sad and counterproductive operation. It looks more like people who are trying to gradually erase any musical trace Prince ever left on this earth. And whoever they are, they've done a brilliant job at doing just that!

It's hard to find the Beatles music on Youtube as well. But that's just viewed as good, sound business. I wonder why?
