in general, i think it's safe to say i always love prince's shorts songs, the ones that
clock in at just over or under 2 minutes.

i didn't get into this one at the start but now i totally love it.

since Plectrum Electrum is one of the least favorite albums for most orgers and i'm
fairly certain i remember people hating on this song very hard at the beginning, did
anyone else come 'round to it by now?

I think it's alright, a little too pro forma for Prince but does the job.

MARZ reminds me of the hard rock bands from the early 70's trying to understand and keep up with punk in the late 70's - they had a tendency to just release very fast songs and think that did the job. Leaving aside the lyrics for a sec, Prince already had a very strange and very cool original sounding take on punk with Sister way back in 1980.

I guess what i'm saying is it was strange to hear Prince in 2014 sounding like an out of touch hard rock band in 1980 when he himself was cutting edge back then. It kind of boggles my mind, which in itself is reason enough for the song to exist.

I absolutely adore it! Art Official Age is the better album, but I'm not sure that PlectrumElectrum doesn't match it in terms of its best tracks.

I've loved it from Day 1. I've tried a few attempts at working it into my solo stuff but it's too full of a song to play by myself.

My son (11 years old) loves the first line of that song. Now, whenever we see a McDonald's, he says "Lost my job at Micky D's for giving away too much food for free."..
