Amazon selling Prince bootlegs now?

I received an advertising email from Amazon last night and noticed that they are releasing an audio cd of Prince's 1990 Tour in Tokyo. As I was trying to find out what was going on, I noticed that this summer, another bootleg was released on Amazon entitled "Nude Tour 1990" and it's a 2cd set. disbelief WTF???? Really? And people are really buying these cds thinking that they are the real deal. This so disappointing. SMH.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

These aren't official releases. They always sell stuff like these.

.

Well, I have to say sardonically, if Warner Bros are officially doing it now, why should others feel dissuaded?

evryone's at it. Internet commerce is now like the wild west, no regulation....and a no man's land when it comes to law. It seem like since he has passed, all reputable records stores are carrying unauthorised CD's. There are probably some nuances about whether they were publicly broadcast, but even so, the quality is crap and no proper e-commerce outlet (or old skool shop) should carry these low sound quality recordings and sell them.

It reminds me of when by surprise (irony) we discover that cheap beef burgers were full of unlicensed horse meat from abandoned carcases. If there is a $ to be made from bootlegs, then AMAZON, EBAY, APPLE, GOOGLE need to be accountable in some way for what they facilitate to be sold on their websites. They can't just say it is not their business. It is just a cop out....they pay so little tax anyhow, so it's not as if they need the ca$h.

It is similar to what Prince said about YouTube. They can filter stuff that suits them, but they allow lots of copyright infringement, because it gives them free money (Views, advertisement) and you are basically doing their work for them.

Rant over smile

I do think, however, that everyone buying knows they are not official. Against my better judgement I bought one just after his passing. I don't know why, but I needed something from Prince and all the online retailers were selling "Rock in Rio" and "Syracruse CD". What a waste of money that is. €20 a pop for a radio recording. I only have myself to blame for that one.

spit Actually, in 12 years of being a member on this site, I have NEVER checked to see if there has been a duplicate thread before I create a new topic, which you seemed to have a lot of time on your hands to respond to since you claim its been discussed to death. BYE wave

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
