Yes I play piano and guitar, I'm actually a classically trained pianist. I haven't been bothered to try and learn RRLA though. Really, it's all about the main synth line, which is so prominent in the song. that's the similarities. If it wasn't prominent I wouldn't say they are similar. Nothing to do with chord progressions or keys. It's just the same 4/4 time with an answer at the end of the bar with the same synth module, it's VERY similar. It's not quarter notes like Take Me With U but it has the same spirit. Cool?

I've never in my lifetime thought these two songs were similar in any way, but I guess the verses are quite close actually.

There was a Rolling Stone article in '85 or so that said "Manic Monday" closed the loop, which consisted of Monday, Monday 1999 Manic Monday. I can see it.
