Andrian Cructhfield talks about Princes future plans.

If you want to know what Prince was planning to do after the Piano and Microphone tour.I encourage you to go and listen to his interview on the latest Dr Funkenberry Podcast. Prince was planning to release some new material, yes, already recorded. And touring with it. Adrian goes into some details on what Prince had planned for the future. It's also upsetting to hear, as it all sounded fantastic. It also pretty much puts to bed all this, Prince new he was going to die rubbish.Go and listen to it.

-- Not really Prince was waiting on test results from Dr.S who brought the results to him. Dr K said he was in a grave medical stiuation his problems required non-controlled Rx that was written by Dr.S this along with what his sister said tells you something was going with his health. It does not mean he was going to drop dead at any moment and I could see him continuing on with his plans. If he was withdrawing from pain meds and continuing to tour he was a determined man.

Basically, He recorded some tracks with adrian and mono that he was excited about. And that was the direction he was going to go with his music in the near future. Also they were going to start doing some shows to promote this new music and make some more music in the same vein. He got Adrian and Mono alone in the studio and described in some detail these plans to them. Andrian says that he was very excited about Princes plans and the tracks they had recorded were great. There were going to start soon after The Piano and Mic shows. Please listen for yourself. It got me excited then very sad, knowing he was no longer here.

What about the orchestral stuff he was working on? Was that part of this project or something different?

David Bowie was still active, too, at the end, with plans for another album. I understand the two deaths were caused by different factors.

I think that stuff was worked on the summer of 2015 according to reports. It appeared that he was doing more funk jazz stuf in the winter and spring of 2016.

Who knows. He had the NPG Hornz at the same time he was still touring with 3EG. According to a recent FB chat with Hannah Welton it sounds like Prince and Joshua Welton were looking for other acts to produce and Donna Grantis's husband Trevor Guy was/is running NPG Music (he's also been involved in the opening of PP) so I have a feeling even if 3EG took a break these ladies would still have been around.

Thanks for the heads-up on the interview though thumbs up!

It's not wishful thinking, it's what prince was engaged with in his music if you listen to what Adrian has to say.lets's keep to his music plans for now. It's what we are most interested in.

Excuse me? I think you might have misunderstood my point.

To make a long story short: "Wishful thinking" is an idiom we use in the American vernacular as shorthand for — "I agree with what you said. And I hope you are right. But it's probably not going to happen…"

The it I'm referring to, is the "…puts to bed…" statement in the quote box. Did you instead confuse my reply to be a comment on the "…what Prince was planning to do…" part of your post?

I will concede that maybe it's me that is confused. Are you saying that you don't wish people would put the "Prince new he was going to die rubbish" to bed? In which case, I owe you an apology — for misunderstanding your native language's vernacular.

Sounds like some incredible projects were in the works...really hope we get to hear it some day. Shades of Umber being one of the tracks on the album. Also sounds like he was writing & recording A LOT! Plans for the aftershows on the P&M tour sound great...love how he was always planning wayyyy ahead.

Likewise love to hear how he still was pushing against Record companies & preferring peer 2 peer distribution.

Cant wait for part 2.

Funkenberry said Shades of Umber was on a configuration of hit and run 2. Not one of the tracks on his latest project with mono and Adrian.

The main reason people believe he was dying was because of what his own sister said and their is an interview with Morris Day were he said he thought Prince was dying and he said that before his sister gave her interview. A few other things Prince did also sat the theory in motion. You do not pay any attention to anything on this board do any reserch but feel you have more knowledge then anyone else.

I really don't think you are correct about Morris Day. all I remember is that Day stated that Prince seemed a bit resigned andr reached out to him when they last talked and in restrospect maybe it was because he might have known his time was coming to an end. It was all Day's hindsight.

.

If Prince was going through tough times, he rarely told anyone. I think Prince was trying to cope with the loss of Vanity (Denise), and that day that Morris spoke to Prince -- he could have just been having a bad day or dealing with other issues. Who knows? On the other hand, it would be sad to think that Prince was keeping a secret about his health (he was good and keeping a secret), from Morris. I mean, just imagine not telling someone who was like a brother to you? There are so many angles to look at this.

It has been said that P kept in contact with Vanity and knew that she was very ill and that her time

was limited. That could have caused him to reflect and want to contact folks from his past. Then

with her passing, I'm sure that it affected him deeply and just made it more important to reach out

to past associates even if to just say hello. sad I say this because since he has passed I realized

that I needed to reach out to special folks that I have not spoken too in several years just to say

hello and touch base with them.

Oh yes, most definitely. Her death had a profound affect on him. Losing a loved one changes your life, forever. heart sad

Morris was at Paisley Park in January to perform and he said they were not on speaking terms so he was reluctant to go but he went and they made amends. He said in hindsight he felt that Prince knew his time was short and that if something was wrong with his health he would not have told anyone because he was just not a serious person. Notice that this is the only interview Morris has given and take note of what he said. He knew Prince since he was 12. Do you any of you have friends from that far back because I do and don't know someone that long without being able to read them.
