I can't find any more info in this project. MA refers to it as "a movie", but the presenters refer to it as a documentary. So I'd imagine it's going to be a documentary with dramatized scenes? If so, I'm curious as to what story they're trying to tell.

I think he'd like to star in whatever major motion picture gets put out eventually about Prince. He might be the best choice if anybody, but he's not small enough.

The likeness and mannerisms are striking.

Finally an impersonator that is convincing!

So weird that the real one is no longer with us, God rest his soul.

What a dreadful talk show. So dry and boring.

Mark's voice tone and mannerisms are similar enough to be spooky. It sounds like he does his own singing and his dancing is okay, but a little stiff compared to Prince. Of all the impersonators I've seen he is the most convincing. It's safe to say we can forget about ever finding someone who is Prince's actual size.

What is also amazing is his ability to master an American accent and sew his own costumes.

Even without the costume he still resembles Prince a little.

I usually don't like Prince impersonators at all. Though I must admit this is the closest to him that I have seen so far and he has that humblish attitude too. He looks like he came to be naturally like this, not like he worked on it... Well it appears that way anyway and there might actually be years of work behind it. The trouble is his voice though, not far from Prince's at all when he speaks, but when he sings hmm. Which confirms that there will never be anyone like him sad Nice try though. cool

He'd have to lip sync. sad

.

I'm curious as to the conversations he said he had with Prince though - of which he didn't reveal the contents.

There is a tribe living in the Amazon basin which has a practice whereby, should an individual bear too close a resemblance to a sacred ancestor, he is regarded as a fearful and unholy figure that threatens the balance of the communal order. Some ethnographic accounts suggest the accursed doppelganger is chased into the forest by menfolk bearing spears, but at least one account has it that, in a grand project that unites and enlivens the whole tribe, they tie him to raft and send him careering across rapids towards what is known in their culture as the 'Tall Waterfall of No Return'.

Ok, I made all of that up, but I do think a solution along those lines could be rewardingly fashioned for this guy and any other of these godforsaken lookunlikes that never fail to set off my internal scream.

I'm surprised a film was never really made of Jimi Hendrix life, there were rumours that Prince was approached and was interested to play Hendrix about 15 years ago, does anyone know if there was any truth to that?

I'm just putting some ideas out there... wink
.

Seriously, though, there's something about these lookalike performers that I have to watch through my fingers. They bring a big grey gloop of mundane reality to something that I'm trying to hold onto as my little piece of that which is magical and transcendent. It's the sense of deflatedness experienced by a wide-eyed child all set to meet 'Santa' at the local mall, who, at some point, is forcefully hit by the realisation that this is actually just some old guy that smells of gin and farts when he moves. lol

The Hendrix family will not allow any depiction of drug use.
