Precioux: I will never understand why Prince got involved with Jay-Z/Tidal. I don't think they were friends, just collaborating. You are right though, you don't see Jay-Z having anything to do with all the Prince Tributes. He did reference Prince in his song, "All the way up", saying "we got P's vault, safe and sound, aint gonna let the elevator take him down." eek

.

Agree He didn't even go to any of the memorials or personal funeral. He hasn't even toured the Museum yet. Beyonce didn't even stay at the BET awards for the Prince tribute. She just perfomed, tried to overshadow the show and left. These people don't give a fuq about Prince. Jay Z only cares about making his pockets bigger. I wish Prince NEVER got involved with TIDAL!

.

MJS: My thoughts, exactly!! Jay-Z and Beyonce are only looking out for themselves. They did not show much respect or honored Prince when he died. That tells us a lot. And, Beyonce's "Lemonade" was a publicity stunt -- releasing her album on Tidal and when Prince just died...like you said, overshadowed Prince's death. People like that just make me wanna go bitchfight on their arse!!

I agree. I don't buy the excuses people were insisting such as, Beyonce could not have pushed her album back. Surely, if she felt highly of Prince or if they were indeed "friends" m wouldn't she have pushed it back?? There is not a doubt in my mind that she does not have the power to do that and even if she did not, she could have at least stayed for the Prince tribute at the BET awards or release a heartfelt statement or brief paragraph of time when she performed with him, just take the time to recognize a legendary artist that we lost. She along with her Jay Z have a hard time stepping to the side in order to acknowledge other artists if they are not benefiting in some way. That is why her covering Prince at some of her shows was phony to me. She never released a statement or acknowledge when Prince passed. She never spoke of the time he tried to mentor her when they performed together or acknowledge how we lost a legend.

This should let the Prince fans know Prince was obviously not "friends" with the Carters.

I haven't heard Beyonce acknowledge Prince at all. Really sad. What's even more sad is that we lost the last greatest legend of our time. No one else can compare. I don't like where the music industry is going, and Prince didn't like it either. He tried to change things, but he was only one person.

Thank you. I feel this way exactly. The whole Beyoncé roll out was unconscionable and also her treatment of his tribute at the BET awards was very disrespectful IMO. I'll make sure to treat her next album with the same disrespect.

It seems to me that Beyonce's music and stage presence is becoming more and more extreme with every album she puts out. She looks very desperate. She should go on vacay for a while. She's too saturated in the media all the time. Just too much, too much!! shake

.

I guess she's trying to hold her rank at the top, and there seems to be few of those. eek

Not only did she try to overshadow the Prince tribute by opening the show with her song, she didn't even stay to watch the Prince tribute. She treated his tribute like it wasn't some random person being tributed and not THE legendary one and only PRINCE! She will never be a legend or Icon like Prince is! Her and Jay Z do some of the most obnoxious things I have ever seen in Hollywood. It's like they can't sit down for ONE DAY to let someone else be honored, not even a legend. Sick and tired of those two evil industry pawns.

They are basically puppets who are self-absorbed and pay off the media to make them seem relevant when most people probably couldn't care less about either one of them.

Prince's Estate is saying that Tidal and JayZ didn't have authorization to stream Prince's music after his death, a total of 15 albums are in question. JayZ also has failed to pay $750K fo an earlier Prince Exclusive HNR1.
