no not Jay Z. I know Prince used Tidal for his music streaming, but I am not sure how I feel about Jay Z, rearranging Prince's music.

I honestly think Warner Brothers should buy it because they knew Prince and his sound. Jay Z may put some rap spin on Prince's music. No, no

Prince didn't have a problem with Jay-Z. Princce did have a problem with WB. I'm surprised people would rather WB ended up owning the music Prince fought them for.

I'd guess if the estate had accepted we'd be hearing about it. More likely they're using J's $40 million offer as a way to negotiate a higher price from the big labels.

Prince DID have a problem with Jay-Z, and stated it....I'm not sure which article it was in, maybe RS 2015, but I know there was a falling out

Prince did not have a problem with Jay or TIDAL.

Remember, he gave them "Black Sweat" from his final show in Atlanta literally days before he passed.

Just imagine this...

If Tidal buys the Vault... They should digitize everything AS IS, stream it and we can cherry pick all songs we want to download. Sounds sweet to me.

I am currently trying to hunt down the exact quote...it wasn't this huge bashing of Jay-Z, just that he was choosing to move away from the Tidal thing. I have researched EVERYTHING from A-Z, and this was stated. I'm just furious because it's like people have stated "Theives in the temple"...and trying to figure out who the "Jubilant Judas" was. It's as if now that P is gone, the bloodhounds are out.

Ask yourself this too....if Jay-Z and P were on good terms and they were so tight, why have we not heard ANYTHING (that I'm aware of) from Jay-Z's camp? He did nothing for any of the tributes, nor was there for any memorials

Okay thanks for clarifying, Militant. Because I read Prince's final interviews between 2014 and 2015 and he was praising Jay-Z and Tidal.

Oh okay

But Prince even still did his Purple Pick of the Week with Tidal on April 18 and also after Prince's death Jay-Z and Tidal show love for Prince. Just because Jay-Z didn't do a tribute as far as I know it doesn't mean he didnt appreciate or respect the man. Here is the article: http://variety.com/2016/d...1201758524

I can't believe I am sort of defending Jay Z which I am not. eek

Well I guess this explains the previous headline about the estate shopping the vault for $35 million.

People need to remember that the vault material isn't the same as the back catalog. The catalog is full of hit songs & songs that could have been hits if they'd been released as singles. It's infinitely marketable. The song "Kiss" could generate millions on it's own by licencing it to makeup brands for advertising.

The Vault is full of untested songs. Which may go on to make hundreds of millions... or may only be of interest to a few tens of thousands of fans around the world.

All I can do is speculate but I'd have to think Jay-Z's offer would be for the rights to the music rather than actually buying the vault music outright.

Good point - other song Cream c'mon you could easily see that for any dairy company with a sexy woman, Little Red Corvette - Obvious... there are so many

You are not going to find anything. They were still getting music right up to the day in died and the rest showed up a few days after. Prince was getting a higher rate for streaming then he would have received from the other services so he was happy.

I do not hink Jay Z is buying anything I think the family wants to give Tidal exclusive licensing rights to Prince unrealeashed music to stream only on Tidal. This is the fastest means to get it out and keeps money coming in the door.

I also still wonder if Prince had money in Tidal as one of Jay-Z selling points was ownership in the business.

Well then you are missing out. You can go to the Tidal store and buy everything to own and you are supporting the Prince estate not just Jay Z. I am not a fan of Jay Z music but I honestly do not see why people make him out to be the devil.

Some of you Prince fans I give a major side eye too. I hope this is not true. This would be the WORSE business deal in the history of music. There is NO WAY Jay Z is trustworthy and I would hate for Prince unreleased music to be in his hands at a small payment of 40 million eek eek eek Prince music is worth way MORE!!

Jay Z is a snake, backstabber, horrible business man and person and he doesn't care about Prince or his legacy. I can see it now, him bragging about owning Prince music just like how he bragged about having Prince music on Tidal. He doesn't give a fuq about Prince or preserving his legacy. This is a "business deal" to him.

Diiing! Correct answer.

The first thing people need to ask themselves is when did Tyka's husband become authorized to negotiate on behalf of the estate? That pic in and of itself is shady as hell.

Where did all the conspiranoids go? They sure as hell need to jump on this story.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Eye actually hope a person, such as Jay Z or Someone else with a real connection with prince, help keep all his assets with the family or own it but tend to give the proper care to his vault. Just don't let Warner bros touch it.
Eye ppl call Prince a modern Mozart or Purple hendrix Prince is The one and only Prince that universe galaxy or whatever u want 2 call it will ever know

Wait, what did Jay Z do? Like, actual facts plz. Considering Prince was happy to deal with Tidal right up to the end what's the issue? He gave up on his own websites quicker than that.
