ONA tour... Japan leg

Scottie, interviewed by Dr Funkenberry recently, talks about the ONA live album and the fact that, in his opinion, the Japan leg was the most musically adventurous. Does anyone know if there are soundboard boots of these concerts circulating?

I loved the ONA tour... loved the jazz, loved the Rainbow children stuff.

Sadly no soundboards from the Japan shows.

Almost ALL circulating ONA shows are NEAR soundboard anyway

This is not music, this is a trip
No, it's not a drug, it's something more hip
Don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
Purple music does the same to my brain

A lot of them are excellent audience recordings, there's no such thing as "near" soundboard. A soundboard either is or isn't.

not a bootleg, but C-Note contains "Nagoya", "Osaka" and "Tokyo", which are all great.
i think they were recorded during soundchecks in Japan?

"osaka"/"tokyo" is just brilliant. i love those two back to back so much music love

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

zzz Seems pretty clear what the person meant by saying NEAR soundboard. i.e. audience recordings that are close to soundboard quality.

There's a five minute version/excerpt of Xenophobia from one of the Japan shows circulating, not sure if it was broadcast on radio or something?

Never heard of a version of Xenophobia from a Japan radio broadcast. There was a release of Xenophobia live included on a 5 track promo CD - Prince ONA Live (from Indianapolis) iirc.
