Love the idea of a volume 2... and that's a great list.... I would have to think about my list... My 2 cents on this issue... I am happy there will be something, but like most, just in a little disbelief about another hits package and what they're realistic expectations are for the sale of the compiliation. As it has been mentioned b4, a lot of causual fans bought the hits compilation(s) after he passed...so why not come out with something different now? I think a hits collection like listed above, that covers the past 20+ years, (or something like it) is the way to go...to help introduce the average fan to what Prince has been up to since "The Hits 1 and 2".

Iwould love to have the extended version of I Wish You Heaven on disc.

The Associated Press is also reporting on the 2 albums WB is releasing.

I'm very confused by the sequencing.

From what I can work out, disc 1 opens with 6 big hits, then goes chronologically until the last track where it ends with Purple Rain. Then disc 2 also opens with 6 big hits before returning to the chronological story and ends with Nothing Compares. But some of the songs in the chronological bits were bigger hits than some of the hits section (U Got the Look vs. Thieves in the Temple for example).

Is there any reasoning going on here? And why 6 songs in the first place?

Maybe the sequencing makes perfect sense if you listen to it

I see your point but PRINCE was in conflict with Warners ba k in February about the reissue of Purple Rain. Prince tweets new people at Warner's don't wanna pay him and it time to picket Warners.
