Prince wrote this music for Ana Moura

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM56y9OK1ew

I dream of fire
Where you used to lay your head
This cruel desire
Is all that's left here in my bed

If you knew how much I
Loved you... You'd never leave me
If you could feel my touch you would stay...

And wake me from this
Dream

I dream of fire
In a place we both know so well
The sweet perspire
The secrets we would never tell

Please don't believe when I
Say that "I never miss you"
All that it means is that
I really wanna kiss you...

I dream of fire
It's all that I've go left to warm my bed
My heart is tired
Filled with so many words left unsaid

Please don't believe when I
Say that "I never miss you"
All that it means is that
I really wanna kiss you...

And awaken from this
Dream

Dream Of Fire (PurpleFireMix) is a remix by Prince of Ana Moura's track Dream Of Fire, the 16th track from her fifth album Desfado (2012), and was streamed on Prince's 3rd Eye Girl YouTube channel on 12 January, 2013.

Her album was in his office laying flat on a shelf within sight. I think below the TV near his desk. Wasn't obvious. Easy to miss, but it was there.

Paolo Coehlo? Stevie Wonder? Paul McCartney? Or maybe her best friend Pablo?

Unless she said that replying to a question asking her about Prince, or she hinted it was him more evidently than this, I don't see any reason to ejaculate all over the walls.

It could be Prince, true. It could also be anyone else. The fact that he remixed it isn't proof enough.

Hopefully now that he's gone she could clarify this (and so could Macy regarding P's possible piano playing on The ID).

Ana Moura never bragged about her relationship/friendship with Prince, that's probably one of the reasons why she was so respected by him.

I think it probably was Prince who wrote it. She said in an interview that it was written by a friend who wished to remain anonymous. Just connect the dots. wink

A few interesting things:

Here's Prince with Ana doing a Portuguese fado. The title loosely translats as: "I'm Gonna Give Pain a Drink".

https://www.youtube.com/w...ycPaSV68JU

For those who do not know, Fado is all about melancholy, pain, misery, longing.

"Fado is generally known for how expressive in nature it is, as well as being profoundly melancholic.

Generally in fado music, the singer will sing about the hard realities of the daily life, balancing both resignation and hopefulness that a resolution to its torments can still occur. It can be described by using the Portuguese word “saudade”, which means “longing” and stands for a feeling of loss. This loss is generally a permanent loss and of long-term consequences. Fado music often has one or two 12 string guitars, one or two violas, and sometimes a small 8 string, bass."

Also:

http://blitz.sapo.pt/principal/update/ana-moura-sobre-a-amizade-com-prince-que-honra-isto-ter-acontecido-a-mim=f84038

Here she says it was an honor for her that he contacted her. Also that he had contacted Amy Winehouse over xmas in order to help her and that she hoped Prince would do the same for her (although for different reasons, obviously.)

I agree it'd make sense but we can't consider it fact until confirmed by Ana or any other reliable source. I agree, however, that it'd be reasonable from the part of Princevault and myself to make mention of that possibility on our respective entries, but no more.

The track was written by Ana Moura and originally produced by Larry Klein. This is the only known collaboration between Prince and Ana Moura, who had previously performed on stage with Prince at a concert on 18 July, 2010, Herdade do Cabeço da Flauta, Praia do Meco (Palco Super Bock), Aldeia do Meco, Portugal.

Yes, I took the special tour on Friday.

Saw quite a bit... it's a lot to sort/process.

I'll post elsewhere, to avoid derailing this thread's topic.
