Name that guitar instrumental please?

So prince had started a may 1994 Monte Carlo concert with this guitar instrumental, this instrumental has been played sporadically before in 1993 during the act 1 performances and has been played sporadically after throughout the years. I had thought I read it was a cover version of a song. Does anyone or can anyone name the song that this instrumental is? Any help greatly appreciated . Thanks in advance.
