ONA Soundchecks

No asking or soliciting for bootlegs.

These seem pretty cool though. I love the fact he got fans on stage to play & sing.

I've done a few searches and it seems there are a few of these in circulation but is there a definitive collection of them?

I have the Sabotage release "ONA The Soundchecks". I think there is another "Exclusive Euro Soundchecks" release. Are these the only two?

In addition to the release you have, and the 2CD Euro one, Sabotage has a lot of releases from the ONA Tour and many of them have soundchecks included. I'm not sure if there is any overlap with the collections but at least some of the indiv releases appear to be different.

There is not a definitive ONA soundcheck collection.

There are parts of soundchecks scattered all over Sab ONA releases.

.

ONA The Buffalo Aftershow has 5 tracks from Shea's Theatre soundcheck.

Disc 3 of ONA in Washington has tracks from both Washington soundchecks.

Disc 3 of Funkschool Rotterdam has tracks from Rotterdam and Frankfurt soundchecks.

Disc 3 of ONA in Berlin has 1 track from Copenhagen soundcheck.

Disc 3 of ONA @ The Apollo has tracks from 4th & 5th Oct soundchecks.

Disc 3 of Funkin Copenhagen has tracks from Copenhagen soundcheck.

Disc 3 of ONA in Oberhausen has tracks from that soundcheck.

Disc 3 of ONA in Paris has tracks from that soundcheck.

Disc 3 of ONA in Hamburg has tracks from that soundcheck.

Continental Drift has various scattered soundcheck stuff, too much to mention here.

ONA in Fukuoka has 1 track from that soundcheck.

.

^ That's the Sab stuff. There is then ONA soundcheck material on other releases, both label and fan releaes. Sorry, I've no time to go through all that just now.

.

Please don't pm me for links.

Cool thanks for the info guys. There is some amazing stuff on here, the bit where he gets the 3 guys up to play guitar one after the other. The guitar heavy version of Paisley Park.

The downside is the 27 minute track where Prince and a preacher field questions such as "Why do bad things happen" and "why isn't everything perfect".

Which one has the 27-minute track with that?
Funny, I'm interested in hearing that actually.

Another good one to get (though I loathe to say it) is "Lost and Found" from EYE Records. It's a 3 disc set and has the long covoted Antwerpen Sportpalies soundcheck on 18.10.2002. This set also includes the main show. The soundcheck runs at nearly 2 hours and is worth checking out.

Someone already answered your question.

It's interesting to listen to. The preacher man seems to have conflicting beliefs to Prince. Which Prince kind of presses him on.

Awesome, thankyou.

It seems odd that these soundchecks are scattered among so many other releases. It's so rare to hear Prince interact with anyone, let alone fans.
