Read today's Our Daily Bread and saw P All in it...

I know we have different faiths among us, and that's cool. I'm just sharing that I found such comfort in today's Our Daily Bread. It reminded me of P soooo much, especially Ecclesiastes 1-3. For those of you who'd like to discuss, please do. Thanks.....https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes+1%E2%80%933%3B+2+Corinthians+11%3A16%E2%80%9333

Welcome home class. We've come a long way. - RIP Prince

I read Ecclesiastes chapters 1,2,3 . What makes you think of Prince? I saw some things relevant to his life. Can I ask a bold question, do you think Prince really believed that Jesus is his Savior, and not in a JW way? question
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

I think it's about reading it as a whole rather than dissecting it. I took from it that he had a purpose for everything he was doing. It always seemed to me that he was always working towards something greater. Always trying to better himself for a bigger purpose. And good question. I don't like speaking for him or anyone else, but I'd just say listen to his music. Even before he became a JW he did reference Jesus a lot. I'm not sure how much you have listened to, but check out the Holy River or The Cross. He also has many other songs. I'm not sure what you mean by "not in a JW way" exactly. I'm assuming you mean, before he became a JW? Sorry if I'm missunderstanding.

I've listened to every song at this point . I think within the first week he passed a already read most of the lyrics to all his published songs. I don't really want to get into how different JW is from Christian but I know Prince was one of Jesus flock. I want to know who else might feel the same as I.

Im with you...

ts plain to see Prince was close to Jesus,

In my mind he led his life with Truth and Integrity, the more we are finding out about him, the more we are seeing

If ever there was a Sincere seeker of The Truth

Prince never deviated, no matter how many roads he travelled down.

I think its mindless nonsense to try and comparmentalise which specific form of CHristianity Prince adhered to

What was clear is that he was following THe Christ...

Yes, I saw many things relevant to his life, especially his hard work and those left to benefit from his work. I'm not questioning his faith, though. Only God knows. Thanks for your response.

I'm not religious, but P said repeatedly that he was "one of Jehovah"s Witnesses". I don't think he could have been clearer than that.

I would have to guess ten that regardless of whether he practiced perfectly, that the tenants of JW were his belief system.

He stated it. So I believe him.

For me I really didn't get a P connection or revelation, but more of a confirmation for me personally regarding the amount of time I spend devoted to all things P, vs feeding myself spiritually and seeking after God. It basically borders on idol worshipping, which I know is wrong and I am sure P would find disturbing. I also won't even begin to mention how listening to certain songs, such as Adore (which I just LOVE), puts me in a place that really doesn't draw me closer to my creator....so seriously I try to listen to mostly P's spiritual songs and the tame, g-rated songs, but something about him and how I react leads me to listen to all my old favorites, which well I'll just end it here...

I absolutely believe that he recognized Jesus, as his Savior and as the Son of God. There are many videos where he is very clear in stating that. I do realize that he was a practicing Jehovah's Witness, which doesn't align with the belief in the Trinity but I perceive him as living out his faith led by his own beliefs not those of any particular donimination or sect. I have a particular interest in his growing spirituality so I have done a lot of reading-lyrics, interviews, interviews of the people around him. In the past few years, he surrounded himself with active professing Christians. He was listening to some contemporary Christian artists, even recording a cover of a Nichole Nordeman "What If?" song with 3rdeyegirl. It's reallly sad to me, so many look to the Prince of the early 80's and 90's (which I love btw) but few appreciate the peaceful, mature and spiritually wise man he grew to be. Prince and I are close in age and have grown up together (for lack of a better analogy) -it has been truly amazing to watch that oh,so cute, young man on American Bandstand grow into himself. I, for one, will miss hearing more of his ever increasing wisdom.

I found another Christian on here! I have been struggling with whether Prince has become an idol . The thing is , I do not think he is a God. Prince was made from the same God as I was, The only true God. Morning noon and night I think about Prince. I was not this way before he died. I never thought I would listen to secular music again . Prince was the first love for me when I was 11 years old. When I found out he died, I realized I still loved him
