If Prince allowed you to ask him about the past, what would you guys talk about?

So I read somewhere that he didn't really like talking about the past at all, but for some reason I imagine his close friends (3rdEyedGirl for example) asking him about certain things behind closed doors and he wouldn't mind answering as long as it was confidental. However, if you were given the opportunity to have a private conversation with him and you would get honest answers back, what would it be about?

For me, I have basically a whole list of things, but I wouldn't ask him about Mayte or Manuela, I wouldn't feel good about crossing that line of discussion. I'm very curious as to why he made the Come album so I would ask him about that, whether or not his parents had a favorite Prince album, if there is a song he regretted releasing, his favorite freaky song of his, and so much more. Lol

There's nothing I can think of off the top of my head that I'd particularly like to know about his past, maybe how many women he slept with, just for curiosity's sake. I'd be more likely to ask where did his influences for songs like Computer Blue, Let's Work and Electric Intercourse come from and, more importantly, if there was any chance he could rediscover those influences.

I'm curious about the "down" periods, which were great for fans because he became accessuble at times, & he never had to do that, could have stayed in his shell. To put it in better terms, how did he process the transitions/peaks & valleys in his career - not just navigating it, but how he really felt about things. How he saw himself as an artist, how that evolved for him personally over the years, how he handled his doubts. Not stock answers either, that would be fascinating to me.
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

it's a quirky question but i would ask when he started using makeup and wearing heels?

there is no way he would of pulled this off while in high school or even younger (unless he practiced during his private time)

You weren't alive in the 70s, were you? lol

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Some of my questions would have probably been answered in his memoir.

Mine is in that same vein: Playing around with gender and sexuality in his visual presentation were such a big part of his career, mostly in the relatively earlier years. What was he trying to say or project by those choices?

I want to talk more about did he explore bisexuality (his earlier songs indicated he did and didnt he say if you want to know more about him is listen to music) and what games did he played on the fans and his friends like telling them one thing but doing the other behind close doors he could have confide in me I am good at keeping secrets.

And also his childhood. I always thought that his biological father was the abusive one but it seems he wasn't it was actually his stepfather and Prince had resentment toward his mother.

And also why he distant himself from his siblings and half ones too.

I would want to talk with him about his feelings about using the Internet in getting his music to new listeners during/after his split with WB. I don't think he "got" it. I feel like I have some insight regarding the way he could have used the Internet as a tool to his advantage cuz I think he was very bitter after Napster and never stopped looking at it all in a very old fashioned way until he was really far behind.

I plead the fifth zipped lol

do you really think he was bold and daring to do that at a suburban high school in midwest? Even some of his teenage pics and pre-career pics doesn't show him using makeup(unless i missed on the eyeliner). Then again i think he did wear chunky heel boots in a couple of pics or platforms, i forgot which lol.

All i know is...he knew how to style early on, especially for someone who didn't have much $$ at that time. I think it is impressive and a part of him that makes him Prince cool

His geekiness and what he saw when he closed his eyes at night. Loved the way his mind seemed to work.

Did he ever feel he had a peer in the music business? I think it goes without question that he was the finest all-around musician/entertainer for the past almost 40 years. But, when he had "made it," did he ever think he was the equal of a Beatle, or a Bowie, or a Clapton? Did he ever think - did he KNOW - he was in the top tier?

.

I'd ask him all about his childhood.

I'd want to know everything.

And I'd ask him about his early sex life.

How young was he?

What is the real story behind the song "Sister"?

Who inspired the song "Darling Nikki"

Did he ever have sex with a boy or a man?

If so, how did he feel about it?

What was the kinkiest thing he ever did?

I'd show him a picture of me when I was 18 years old and ask him if I would have been qualified?

I'd ask him if what Lisa said about him was true (that he was a lesbian in a mans body)?

Was God someone he was taught to believe in or was God something that came from inside of him.

I'd ask him if he ever had two way conversations with God and/or Jesus?

Did he ever have a "supernatural" experience?

If he could change one thing about his past, what would it be?

And maybe at some point I'd ask him a question or two about his music........... Nah

.

How he learned how to do all the millions of things he did so well. Even minor things like riding a motorcycle, doing the splits, etc.

What inspired his clothes, shoes and hairstyles would be a question I would have liked to hear his answer to.
I love most of his style choices and that he never kept the same style throughout.

The lyrics to 'Cream' suggest that he absolutely knew, lol!
