Did prince like women who resembled him?

They say we're attracted to people who look somewhat like us, it's human nature. Do you think Prince saw him himself in some of the features of the women he was attracted to? I think he was. What do you think?

I think it is important to remember that Prince did deviate from the Vanity type from time to time. In general he was attracted to goregous, feminine, glamorous women. Growing up I read in previous biographies he had a huge crush on Marylin Monroe, and has dated blondes, black women, and many other types. So it isn't like he only found the Vanity type hot but, in general that was they type of woman that got his attention but what does Patti Stanger say? "The penis does the picking"...that is so true. lol...but you didn't have to have the Vanity look for him to be sexually interested. Remember he was pretty infatuated with Carmen Electra too, I think a Marylin Monroe template was what he liked...but the Denise Matthews look could have possibly be the type that he "imagined" his ideal woman to be, because he was wildly attracted to her, cared deeply for her but couldn't tame her and found her too wild at the time. He wanted her looks but someone a lot more demure, virginal, for whatever reason his Madonna/Whore complex was very engrained in his sexuality and he was not willing to compromise on that. That is just my opinion.

I do think he was attracted to women that looked like him and I think would go as far as have them use his clothes, share similar makeup, etc.

Hmmm... Interesting question... Vanity has said that she and P were very much alike, like each other's mirror image. Susannah was a bit like him, a creative person and a bit of a free spirit. And in both cases, it went wrong, so maybe P decided to go for women who were a bit more easy-going? Also, by that time, he was a world famous superstar and a multimillionair, so I'm wondering if any relationship he (or any other rock star) had after that, could ever have been on equal terms...

well the things is in relationships you have to compromise and meld and blend while keeping your own identity.

After 1988 Prince seemed to only go after women that were much younger than he was

give or take a few in the late 89 early90s Kim Bassinger (Nona Gaye?)

Like most men, he liked them all. But he didn't have too many relationships with blondes, a few with auburn . He liked curly hair but it wasn't required. In the later years he seemed to be around a lot of women that matched his skin tone, but then again they're were others that didn't. I think he liked for the woman to match his skin tone on stage if they where dancing around him just because it looks more uniform but that's just I guess. He married a Puerto Rican with straight hair. Manuela was the trophy wife he said he never really wanted ( my opinion) . It seems in his later years he was around young biracial womens . I don't know if he was only trying to help them in their career or he had relations with them also.
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

That was a lie concocted by national enquirer he never had a Marilyn template he made that clear in his rollingstone 1985 interview
By the way Nona looks nothing like the vanity template and they were together 3 years

Like I said that was my opinion. I would have to read the RS article about the Marylin thing though...I know I read about the crush thing a few times and he name checks her in the song Girl o' my dreams...which kinda does add more credibility to that belief.

Prince loved those 1940s starletts, their images were all over his dressing room and in the PR movie and even just up till last year he told Tamron Hall that she should do something with her hair like one of those 1940s starletts

Didn't every man have a Marilyn Monroe template back then? Lol. She was the epitome of beauty of that era, so it's understandable that he would hold her in esteem. I think once he met Vanity though, she became his newfound template. He did say that she was his female alter ego, so it's only plausible that he would try to emulate her beauty. So yes I think he dated women that looked like him. According to his track record, he definitely liked mulatto women the most but he was open to dating anyone he was attracted to, black/ white / Hispanic. I loved that about him. I hate it when people make it seem like he was doing something wrong because he dated a lot of women that were his complexion or that he didn't date outside of this template, because he did. (I'm a Jamaican copper skinned princess if anyone is wondering lol) I think it's sweet. He dated the best of both worlds all at once, and he wasn't afraid to venture outside his taste. My son is biracial and as long as he's racially open minded and not bias against anyone, I have no problem with him being attracted to girls that are his complexion.

Really? Even so, he had to have liked something else about her, and cared about her somewhat. I doubt Prince was that stupid that he would be with a girl for that long, contemplating marriage, FORCING himself to make love to her, only to cherish Marvin Gaye's memory... falloff

I think he liked petite brunettes firstly. In looks I think he liked those high cheekbones and almond eyes. Vanity? Yes, but I don't agree he was looking for her in every girlfriend. I think he set his type early on in life, hence Susan Moonsie the petite brunette who was before Vanity. Prince has good bone structure too and I think he liked women with the same.

I thought young Mayte resembled Marilyn in the face. When P was with Jill, I think it was his idea for her to have bleach blonde short hair. People's taste change and change again.

One thing is clear that P was definitely not a "breast man". He didn't seem to care that much about them and seemed to go for women with dark features and an A cup was totally fine with him.

.

I'm glad he had so many beautiful women in his lifetime. He definitely deserved it.

Not required by there were a couple of girl that had C or D cups. He made reference to big boobs once in a good way. I think the girls just happened to be small. I don't think it mattered to him the size. Pretty face nice body, you didn't have to have huge boobs and butt , as long as you had some

I read in an autobiography that Prince dated Susan in middle school. So Prince dated Denise, Susan, Jill, and whoever else and they were all around each other? How does that work?

It's a strong possibility that they were above the petty 'girl fights' ie not blaming the other woman like a lot of women do. Susan Vanity Brenda bonded and looked out for each other.
I think with Susan by the time Vanity came around she was passed it with Prince. She had fun but she knew she had a different future for herself. And she left with good friends in Vanity & Brenda to the end.

Jill became close with Vanity I think after Vanity left.

4 Jill it was more like 'free love' she's talked about it a lot. I think she saw Prince more as a 'friend with benefits' And she was in Europe a lot during the 1984/85 period. So it's not like they were all sitting around with each other all the time.

Susannah Sheila Jill idk Susannah Sheila E Wendy have always been cool. St Paul talked about them all being at his house and stay over after Prince passed. etc

I think overall even being young they were pretty mature and the hunger for the music and 'culture' was more important than being petty.

When Vanity present the award 2 Prince & the Revolution they all hugged and greated each other sincerely. Same with Brenda Apollonia Vanity etc

I think people try to make it seem like Prince 'had it like that' but it was the ladies that had it like that.

Young, free and artsy. The perfect combo for all of that. I seem read a lot of artsy cliches over the generations seem to function the same way.
