all getting very silly & chaotic. Surely a 1st anniversary gig would make more sense?

I agree. I did not plan to go to Minnesota this year - too soon, frankly, for my heart which is still shattered. But next year would certainly be a possibility.

And it's Sept.13-one month from the supposed date. USBank stadium still doesn't have it listed and no tickets or lineup info. has been announced. Wondering at what point do we give up and cancel reservations? One plus is that airline ticket prices appear to be holding steady.

I go to private events at a local casino (the free concerts for cardholders/players), and those events are normally not listed on any schedule. For instance, Peter Frampton didn't list the show on his tour schedule, but he played to a full house this summer. Perhaps this private event will not be listed on the main schedule.

it was cute, fustrating and forgiving when Prince planned last-min gigs because it would be rewarding in the end for those that spent $$$ on attending.

However... this is not the case confused

Someone should tweet Lomdell or BrownMark and ask if we should cancel our flights?

Maybe they are going to surprise us and announce that D'Angelo is going to do a full Prince set. He seems to be just about the only previously unbooked major act that has been mentioned as a possible performer at the Tribute.

Hi to be honest I did not ask as I did not want him/her to disclose anything that could cause him/her to get into trouble, one thing I would say is the probability of the NPG being there in some form as this person was a member of the 90's era NPG and is definatley going to be there!

I hope you have VERY reliable information because I am already out over a $1000 on airline tickets, hotel and car rental. If they cancelled soon I could at least recoup some of it or change the flight to Cleveland. Oh-and taking unpaid leave from work, so yeah, I hope your source is VERY reliable.

The plus side, I don't think I'm going to have to worry about getting tickets, as many people appear to be fed up and cancelling plans.

Just saw this on the Star Tribune.......

.

But a month before the much ballyhooed show, the stadium doesn’t have a signed contract and the Prince estate has not announced any acts or ticket information. To sell more than 40,000 seats for a concert in a football stadium usually requires months of promotion.

.

The concert is only a month away, and there is no producer? I don't see how this is going to happen now.

If this person is Tony Mosely by any chance, please let us know. While I'm not currently planning on attending, if Tony M will be returning to the stage to perform Jughead, that would be a game changer for me and something I would not be able to miss. beg

And a much ballyhooed show that fails to happen will garner negative press. What a mess. Filling 40K seats is like doing the Superbowl half show and that took months to prepare. With Prince.

Please no Christina Aguilera or John Mayer as suggested in the article! Otherwise, it gives me some hope. There's confirmation that talks are happening and the Revolution still could be there. I'm going to look at the bright side and ignore the mention of those two performers.

If they brought Irving in, you know the whole event was in trouble. I hope, for the fams, that he can pull it off. But this only reinforces my feeling that LM and CK are not the people who should be overseeing the creative side of the estate; there are "big guns" in the industry, and they should be there. They have to plan for 2016 and beyond for decades ... I honestly don't think the people in place now can do that properly. JMO

Sales will start soon? The concert is less than a month away. This is BS. Tickets should have gone on sale weeks ago. Clearly whomever is in charge of this either has too much on their plate or aren't the right people to pull this together.

yes THIS...OR, there is something sinister going on. I can't put my finger on it, as they say, but something just does not feel right. At this level, things like this just should not be happening. I mean, we're talking the estate of Prince Rogers Nelson, for crying out loud. To borrow another phrase, "There is something rotten in Denmark."

it is a bit discouraging to not know yet who is performing. I personally think it should be big acts, not just his local band members, if this is suppose to be the major tribute concert.

Remember that one award show where Prince was honored and other artists were singing his songs and he made all kind of faces, especially, at Alecia Keys, climbing on top of the piano? I can't recall the show, but he was sitting in the front row, with the woman from his band that has a shaved head. If anyone can, and knows what face I'm talking about that he made, feel free and post it.

I think Prince is very particular who sings his songs and how they sing it. He wants things done right and respectfully. I have no doubt about it.

Have they changed the date from Oct 13th to Oct 15th now?

This is an interesting question. Was he one of Prince's lawyers at the end? How did he end up becoming involved with Prince's affairs again?

It sure seems that way. I think Sheila wanted to be in charge of the official tribute, and maybe even Prince's overall legacy. From the beginning, she made that plain in a plethora of TV appearances. Now, since that did not happen, it seems (to me) that she is playing HARDBALL...AND swinging well-aimed punches, wearing BRASS KNUCKLES. I mean, this Cleveland tribute concert, two days after the still unconfirmed Oct. 13 U. S. Bank Stadium tribute--for which she is conveniently unavailable--is as GANGSTA a move as I have ever seen. OAN, all the while, she is selling a BOATLOAD of Prince memorial t-shirts. SHEILA E. AIN'T NO JOKE. OKAY??!!??

I have nothing against Sheila but who says she should be the one in charge of his legacy? I think it's just sad that these people can't all work together and do right by Prince. Put egos aside and work together. I doubt Sheila knows anything about managing an estate (or has time to oversee it) so work with Bremer and Londell and the family. Maybe she attempted to and they said no thanks. But somehow I doubt that. I'm curious did she and P reconcile before he passed. I know they had a falling out back in 2011/2012 but I'm wondering if they made up at some point. I'm not surprised they didn't work together in 2013-2015 because P was doing the whole 3rdEye thing.

http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/7341899/sheila-e-prince-memorial

Because Sheila knew Prince since his first record came out back in the 70's and performed with him more than any other band member. Her Tribute on BET, was one of the BEST, because she knew how his shows were done. High energy.

Sheila said she called several times in April to see how Prince was doing after his April emergency landing, and the security people answering the phone told her he was resting and doing fine.
