i find all of prince's 'close friends' lacking. all of them are amazingly well placed with media but short on knowing he was in trouble.

i'm feeling salty about all these 'close friends' getting their google results fluffed out... yet our genius is no longer..maybe ihad too many margeritas tonight sad

Ain't no way those are real wild lions, unless there's a big thick piece of glass between them. Never turn your back on a big cat, heck you asking for it with the small ones too.

Imagine Prince running away at the mouth for hours, and as comical as he was too. That must have been a sight.

You just described my anger phase of grief... have the same feelings but was happy to read apollonia's letter. Knowing she really was on her way to see him after that FB post about hopping on a plane.

At least she did try to get there in time .. reading that has helped my anger to calm down.

Leaving more room for tears again *sigh*

yep a very fair point made there. Surely stuff like this should be kept private OR is this just the age we now live in where people share every last detail. She was clearly a good friend BUT so were mnay others...where were they?

No i agree completely. It makes little sense that he is gone but all his ''close' friends are still here.

I felt the same way until a friend of mine spun it in a different perspective. Would Prince drop everything for them? For example when sweet Vanity died he wasn't going to cancel his tour to goto her family but he did send his love. Tamron loved him for sure but after listening to her describe their relationship it seemed like they were long distance close friends. Plus she and the others have jobs.

But either way i feel you and your anger is justified because some "friends" are milking this for attention.

Prince also said: "Everyone around me has a cellphone." Also, you can send texts through iMessage from an e-mail address. He didn't say that he didn't have an iPad.

He really did not have a cell phone.....think about how on the fringe healthy he was. The things he would avoid. He has spoken out against flouride in the past as being poisonous, he never microwaved his food, and he also even tweeted one time, this was one of his tweet and deletes, that the he does not have a cell phone because he felt the microwave radiation they produce is harmful.

None of that seems far fetched for Prince imo.

sorry but the cynic in me has to question WHY she made this public. a person suffers a traumatic loss, they get therapy. we get it.

she could have tended to her needs without making it a public spectacle. IMO, just another attempt to get attention or reinforce to the world that they were SO CLOSE that now she needs therapy to get over it.

as to the therapy, i say good for her. as to making it public, i say what is the motive?

yeah, i am jaded. too many people talking about how sad they are about their "close friend" being gone. meanwhile, he is still dead and they are making records/going on tour/getting google hits, etc. where the hell were they all when he was dying?

pfffft.

It probably is. They look like white lions to me and you don't see an awful lot of those in the wild. I know there are a few private reserves in SA that have them, so these are most likely not wild lions.

LOL. There's another picture where they are petting them with the same caption. Tamron's expression looks like she might be a bit concerned.

Oh, I missed your reply when posting my own. So that mystery is solved then.

I'm hoping Apples gets some counseling also. She was trying to get to him but to no avail. She knew something was probably "off" and wanted to see with her own eyes he was o.k. Hopefully Tamron's story will inspire others. More importantly, I hope she wasn't financially compensated from this.

Bingo! I have to agree with this. I do believe there are some that are truly devastated by his loss, but in many cases some are just trying to reinforce/convince others that they had a "close" relationship with the man. IMO - Tamron should've kept this private. Although, in this day and age, most people don't know what real privacy is anyways. rolleyes

I'm glad to hear Tamron is getting therapy to help her cope with the loss of Prince, whom she was very close to. I lost my Mom 2-1/2 years ago and it still hurts. I was in therapy for 2-years. I miss her every day. You never really get over the loss of a loved one; you just learn to deal with it. They say "time heals all wounds". It takes time....a lot of time!! I sincerely wish her the best.<3

Look at it this way: a white lion's colour makes him/her stand out, so (s)he is going to have trouble hunting and therefore surviving. That's why they are rare and if there's reserves keeping these unique white lions (there's also white tigers) alive, then that's better than them dying out, don't you think?
(I'm sorry, I just find this subject more interesting than this Tamron Hall lady.)

That's if it is a reserve. There's loads of petting zoo's in South Africa. Petting zoo's are evil enough but there's also their connection 2 canned hunting.

Yeah, I know. Hunting is big business in Africa. As far as I know, Kenya is the only country that doesn't allow it. In Tanzania, Zambia etc, hunters will happily pay $ 50,000 to shoot a buffalo or so. It is, to say the least, a bit dubious. The macho men will pay big bucks to shoot an animal and by doing so contribute to keeping the animal reserves alive. Louis Theroux did a documentary on it. It's weird. Owners of a reserve buy animals to get shot by amateur hunters so that they can keep their reserves running. Killing animals is a way to keep animals alive. But the hunting business can only survive if there's animals to get shot, so they need to have animals to get shot so they can buy new animals to get shot. Yeah. It's weird.

Those people are not at a reserve with their backs to a lion. Even in a zoo a lion will stalk you with your back to it, it's their job. Check YT. That's all I'm talking about. I wonder if that's a back drop or a very clear glass.

I'm kind of jealous they're besties. Well not jealous, I wouldn't want to deny her that, I just would like to know what that would be like.

They knew, they knew... I was saying for years Prince was sick and probably on something, but the people around him were acting as though everything was fine. So many threads got locked because as the mods said 'Everybody knows Prince doesn't do drugs' or 'Prince is fine so stop it'. And now he's gone. sad

Van Jones gave an interview where he was crying and said he felt guilt, that he wondered what he should have done or could have done. I haven't seen another expression of guilt from any of these friends who talked to P daily. But after the fentanyl ME report, the NYT Sunday Style section had an almost page long article about Tamron's new apartment. I don't watch tv news so I'd neve heard of her before her discussions about P.

Glad that she seeked counciling That was a dear friend of hers. To lose him so quick under that type of circumstances has to be the hardest thing for her. We all lost someone special. But she was closer. I don't mind this being a thread. May help those still coping.

Still hard to believe.

I am glad she got some help because I was concerned after he asked her to come to him and she didn't go. After he passed maybe it crossed her mind that he could have been reaching out to her for something more than what she thought. It has to be affecting her that she did not go to him.

I don't believe that it was an exaggeration that they talked every day. He called in to the Today Show and pretty much confirmed it, even telling her what to wear and how to do her hair.

Even on vacation he kept up with her.....

Exactly! And I follow CurlyNikki and remembered when she originally posted that pic.

People want to talk about how close he was with all these folks that was in his life like 25-45 years ago and that's fine but want to so easily dismis his friendship with Tamron, as if it didn't exist.

Well you can say that for ALL of them. Apples, JJ, Judith, Mani, Mayte, Van Jones, Spike Lee, I mean, all these people are suffering and miss him and all of them had relationships with him.

Shoot, Morris Day post pics of Prince everyday all through the day. Now, at first I knew he was posting for the Prince fans on his FB page but even now, he is still posting. That is how he helps with his grief.

Everybody is going to have good memories of him and only talk about those memories. Whether they knew him in 2014 or in junior high school. Who are we to judge?
