IDEA : Request Line for the Estate for Future Official Releases!!!!

Let's help the Estate make their job easier!

What Prince Concerts or Songs would you like to be made available?

1) I would like Classic Concerts available on Blueray or DVD. Like Montreaux jazz festival or Syracuse 85.

2) I would like to see a few box sets of unreleased music along with information about each tracks.

3) Box set of alternate versions of songs and Remixes

4) Blueray version of Purple Rain movie with a CD box set of songs that were recorded for the soundtrack but were never officially released

* moderators please make this a sticky!!!!

I'd like to see official high quality releases of "collector's Editions" of everything that's been available unofficially forever from P & prince bootleggers including all videos, movies, live performances, etc. Get it all out there officially once and for all in high quality so fans won't want or need the bootleggers' stuff anymore.

Then moving forward, high quality official releases of the contents of The Paisley Park Vault.

Yup, that should keep me happy into perpetuity.

cool

I would like to stream his catalog of music videos (video essays), released and unreleased, on demand. Estate, make a deal with Netflix. I'd pay for 2D content over music only streaming.

Listen to me closely as the story unfolds
This could be the saddest story ever been told....

Blu-ray, without an "e".

And the name of the city is Montreux, without an "a".

Agreed. It's like fans think no one around Prince knew of his music, or what they would want to see released, too. Like no one actually LIVED the things we've only read about in DMSR, or The Rise & Fall, or The Vault. So let's set up an 800 number to send a message. "There's a 12-minute version of 'Computer Blue' that you might not know about...." How embarrassing.

"eye don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r."

Some idea's:

1. Let the musicians from his bands from each decade decide on a compilation of songs per decade.

70-80, 80-90, 90-00, 00-10, 10-16 The songs they remind playing and are worth releasing.

2. A live album/dvd per tour. There are not that many official live albums released.

3. Let the fans decide/vote for a top 50 outtakes (5 cd's)

4. Complete albums by prince not released

5. Remasters of albums with outtakes added.

6. Prince collaborations with other artists.

7. Genre compiled cd's: jazz, blues, gospel....

8. Documentary, interviews and tv performances.

9 Lovesexy 88 on lp and dvd/ blu-ray

10. Give Jimmy Jam, Sheila E, Wendy and Lisa and Questlove access to the vault and let them

decide.

No DVD's...can we graduate to Blu-ray please. As well as good location where we can stream much, if not all, of the video stuff. Like a simple Netflix dump. Jeesh. Sott is the only one u can stream....on Redbox....WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. No purple rain, Graffiti, utcm or sott. Crimony. Maybe these estate folks will straighten video streaming out.

Militant... I would like to hear what you would like to have officially released. You know alot about his unreleased music.

I think a good place to start would be : a compilation of the best moments from "Piano & A Microphone", and Blu-Ray releases of Purple Rain Syracuse and Lovesexy Dortmund.

Unreleased songs is a whole other topic. Where entire tracklistings and sequences are available, I think it would be good to explore releasing those - Roadhouse Garden, Dream Factory, Camille...... You could extend the "HIT N RUN" concept by grouping together one-off tracks, which is essentially what HNR2 was anyway....

Probably not a popular opinion, but...

.

Nothing "new." Unless the estate is in possession of detailed instructions, written by Prince himself, for posthumous releases.

.

That said, remastered reissues for anything that was officially released. Videos, concert films, albums, etc. If Prince released it during his lifetime, make it available again if it isn't already.

.

I know I seem to be in a very small minority with this line of thinking, but I hope there are no "new" releases.

Also great ideas! I can't believe i left off a blu-ray video of the LoveSexy Tour on my list. That was the first Prince tour I actually saw and my favorite. Even though I enjoyed every tour for different reasons.

I just want to get that feeling I used to get on every tuesday when new music was released. I remember in the 1980's going to my local record store to buy the latest Prince release on Vinyl. I hope all releases are also released on Vinyl as well as CD. I enjoy the physical form of music vs Downloading. I really miss the days of the 12 inch singles.

I think it was kind of cool how prince re-recorded extraloveable and released it. He knew his fans appreciated his music in the vault. Even though he changed the song it still was a great song even though I prefer the original. So it was very obvious he was a regular on the Org because we always talked about him releasing stuff from the vault.

I can't wait to hear the Original Extraloveable, Wonderful Ass, Rebirh of Flesh, and Donna in crystal clear music format.

Thank you. It is an advantage that many people who worked with him over the last 30 or 40 years are alive and could have a valuable contribution to his legacy and future releases.

They knew Prince, worked on the songs and also know which songs he liked but did not fit on the album at the time. Plus we might hear some inside information about the recording of these songs.

For example I liked that Susan Rogers shared a story about the recording of the song ' Wally' . Maybe they should also include some engineers who worked with him to the people who get access to the vault.

Worst case scenario is that the wrong persons get access with no real love for his music and only interested in making money quickly.
