i know, i feel the same way. on the one hand, it'll never be what it was. prince is gone. on the other hand, it's a huge step forward in the right direction. once, years ago, i visited the house mozart lived in, in salzburg.

someday, a kid from austria will have a chance to walk through the same rooms where our hero walked and danced and worked his magic.

i think that if us fans help to get this project off the ground this october, it will open up more options for the management company.

I truly think Prince wouldve wanted this. and have it continue to host concerts and dance parties... Prince invested a lot into making it a space for the creation of music and the performance of music and it shouldnt go to waste. I would love to see it become one of the premiere small live music venues in the area for local and touring talent.

I live near Detroit, and just last year my wife and I toured Hitsville USA . . . the home of countless Motown songs and albums. The sheer history of that place is ingrained in the walls, floors, even the air itself seemingly. Some things have not changed since its heyday.

Granted, a lot of time has passed since that little bungalow pumped out some of history's greatest music -- and no one died there (as far as I know) -- but the building itself is a historical landmark.

Now, Paisley Park has only been "empty" for 4 months, and didn't pump out quite the amount of legendary music as Hitsville (Prince's own music aside), but I think it's a huge draw for anyone who just wants to occupy the same space that Prince once did.

To imagine him there throughout decades recording countless songs, to feel the vibe from the music (I would hope music will be playing during the tours) . . . it will be a bit overwhelming for some.

I'm already figuring out if this trip is in the budget for October. Not sure if it is, or if it will have to wait until Spring.

Life can never be too soon and a gift shop is no diffrent that buying items at a concert.

Folks need to go with in the next year because it can always be sold and I want my $$ going to his family.

we talked about this a few months back. if it were me i'd renovate the elevator area. remove the actual elevator and put it somewhere it can never be found.

then take the space where it was and install a spiral staircase with a matching hanging crystal chandelier. just my 2c.

I know there are mixed feelingst hat come with this news, and some people's perspective is that it's like it's going through the closet of a deceased person...I don't share that perspective...I look at it as the longevity of Prince, his legacy, and his vision and wishes for Paisley Park and it's future. That IS great news because to me, the alternativew where PP is concerned is far more devastating!

it is too soon for me as well, but the idea of being in MPLS in October and possibly missing this by a short period of time would be more devastating - not being able to afford to go twice to MN. It would've been sad to miss this.

After the way Prince died (overdose by drugs), I don't think that any of us can say what we think he may have wanted, because clearly, none of us knew the man like we thought we did. Most of us would have put our heads on a chopping block to defend him, believing that he would never touch a drug, because we thought we knew him! Even those close to him, clearly didn't know him, because even they say that they never saw him do any kind of drugs, and saying how clean he lived his life! Sorry, but I would be leary of anyone that says that "this is what Prince would have wanted" because none of them really knows. Tyka and all the rest, were not close to Prince, and probably hadn't even saw him in years....who knows? Prince distanced himself from family years ago, and rarely, if ever, spoke of them. Most people didn't even know he had family. The truth is, we all know what's behind this, and that's the making of money!

This just make me wonder what the "estate" is doing with all his belongings, but most important, his music.

I wonder if they'll have live performance playing on the screens?

I wonder if they'll be playing unrelease music through the PA system?

If they do (which will be great), then that means someone is going through the Vault as we speak.
