New article on RollingStone.com has some really interesting info about Paisley Park, among other things:

"Workers digging through its rooms have found an array of treasures: from vintage outfits (including the one he wore at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2007) to a book with 40 to 50 pages of handwritten lyrics and a secret room that hid unreleased video footage....Even more surprising are the detailed guidelines Prince left behind for turning Paisley Park into a museum after his death – including a wall-mounted timeline of his life through the mid-1990s and messages and texts sent to friends that specify how he wanted fans to walk through Paisley Park. "We're seeing e-mails he sent four months before his death that say how he wanted it," says the source. "He wasn't foreshadowing anything. [But] he always wanted his fans to come here. He left us a big road map."

So they are only going to open up the first floor. I wonder how they will make the VIP tour that much different. I did the tour back in 2001 and we got to go downstairs and see the parking garage. I'm going in Oct to the concert and want to tour PP again just not sure I want to do VIP. Thoughts?

I thought I read somewhere that the tour would include the parking garage. If I find it I'll share the link.

I think I saw that also but for $60 more is the VIP tour really going to be worth the extra 30 minutes and a tour guide? Maybe for some but for others that already been in there and did a tour not sure. Plus the elevator is on that first floor also. They take it out or is there a different elevator?

We will tour Paisley on Friday, October 14 at 11:30 AM. The General Public Tour. I don't need a VIP Tour because I had my VIP Tour in 1994. The only place I didn't see (back then) was Prince's office/quarters on the second floor (up the stairs double doors opening to the right). So, whomever is in the General Public tour at that time, I will point out all the rooms, we won't see (probably the vault, garage, guitar room in the basement; art/designer clothing room upstairs, and rooms people don't know are in the building above the sound stage). Hopefully, I can get words out without crying. I don't know how I am going to react being in Paisley not seeing Prince performing or just leaning against the wall watching us dance to his music.

So this merchandise for opening day attendees...is this what the shirts really look like? The photo below looks like a poster was just photoshopped on to a t-shirt. I do like that the women's shirt appears to be more fitted and not the big, boxy crap you normally see.

Nice luv the design~
wonder if the t-shirt and other merchandise will be available for purchase from the Paisley Park website in the near future? Hope so heart

Does anyone have a clue or guess where parking will be for this tour? We have the VIP tour for the 14th. And it says it comes with "VIP parking". Yet I just saw on another post, they might be using shuttles from other locations? Just wondering if anyone has heard or read where we will be parking!? I'd rather find out ahead of time, instead of getting there and being completely lost! (It's a 7 hour drive for us!)

I assume the parking lot. You can email them. I emailed them and let them know how I felt about some things and they responded

I have been trying to locate any information about the previously mentioned shuttle to paisley park - I can't find anything. Does anyone have info from either Mall of America or downtown MN?!

There's a BUNCH of parking just across the street from there. So I've been wondering if they'll use that as parking, then have shuttles running back and forth from there. That's how Graceland is...you can ride the shuttle over from just across the street!

They states in their 'proposal' that they will run shuttles form like Mall of America or MN...i just don't see any info about it. I will consult with them.

I really hope they do. If I read it correctly, public transit takes 1hr, 45 minutes to go 21 miles and get you into chanhassen .8 mike walk to pp. Or uber is 35 bucks each way. I could be a bit off, but... Yow! FP, thanks for whatever you can find.

I'm going on the 6th and it's my understanding that VIP comes with a parking pass. I'm not sure what traffics going to be like so I'm heading out early. I'm clueless on all of this, hope they send more info before opening.

I emailed Paisley Park a couple days ago, asking them about parking with a VIP pass. Haven't heard anything back. I'm anxious to see what the first people to go have to say. I think they will be able to tell us more and what to expect!

Just wanted to let u know that the Paisley Park Tours website has been updated and it now states that it's best to pre-order The Taste Experience ahead of time via their online store because it will be available in a limited way on a daily basis during the tours.

Hope this helps and enjoy!

If any of you are going the first week its open, I would love to hear your experience. I am deciding between general and VIP tickets, knowing that I will go again later when they have things more organized. Any of your thoughts will be appreciated!

News about shuttle, might be mandatory in order for them to get approval in time for their Oct 6th opening date. Hoe they figure it out soon - It's 10 days until opening! The shuttle would be so helpful beg

VIP tours have a maximum of 15 people and general admission 50 people. I would imagine VIP will be more intimate. My thoughts are if you are going to see it you might as well see it all. I'm going Oct 6th, so I'll be sure to report my thoughts.

I think the shuttle they are talking about in this article is having a shuttle nearby, not the airport shuttle. When there were parties in the past, every now and then they would shuttle people from Lifetime Fitness, which is just down the road.

They were proposing shuttles from MOA or DT initially - am hoping it does pull through to fruition.
