Somewhere Here On Earth.

.

Lion of Judah is a close second ( I really like that song but dislike the chorus).

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Guitar. Because it's great when played live and sums up Prince's outlook on life perfectly: I love you baby, but not like I love my guitar

Not a big fan of this but there are some songs I really like:

"Guitar" (should've been on 3121 if P had held out on its release for just a wee bit more.).

"Chelsea Rodgers"

(LOVE IT!!!!!! So funky, though not the funky masterpiece the song "3121" is. Love this song!)

If I have to pick just one..."Guitar". QueenofCardboard love your threads, it's interesting to see how different orgers top picks are haha. Damn, rambling again lol

Are you gonna do every album released? I hope so even though there are 39/40 albums haha!

Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!

Planet Earth and Somewhere Here on Earth, but I love the whole album. It reminds me of the 21 nights in London.

"Planet Earth"

Imagine holding Planet Earth
In the palm of your hand
With no regard for your place of birth
Or claim to any land

The only thing between us now is the truth we understand
If Planet Earth was in the palm of your hand

50 years from now what will they say about us here?
Did we care for the water and the fragile atmosphere?

There are only 2 kinds of folk
And the difference they make
The ones that give
And the ones that take

[Chorus:]
Just like the countless bodies
That revolve around the sun
Planet Earth must now come into balance with the one,
That caused it all to be
Then we'll see His kingdom come,
So shall it be written, so shall it be sung

Imagine you could rid the Earth
Of anyone you choose
Which ones would you need the most
And which ones would you lose?

Do we want to judge another
Lest we be judged too?
Careful now... The next one might be you

[Chorus]

Imagine sending your first born
Off to fight a war
With no good reason how it started and what they are fighting for
And if they're blessed to make it home
Will they still be poor?

Pray for peace right now and forever more

Life Matters

One of my favourites of the post 80's albums, with lots of songs on I really like. While I never put a Prince playlist together without including 'Guitar' there can only be one song for me....

Somewhere Here on Earth.

I've said it many times before, and surely will again, but I believe had SHOE been on Sign O The Times instead of Planet Earth, it would now be held in the same esteen as Adore. One of Prince's very best songs on an album that's much better than its reputation suggests.

Guitar. Not just about his love of guitar but his love of music in general. There is nothing he loved more than it.

Thanks,

I might.

My count is 46 albums, but some of them are purely instumental, so favorite "song" might not be the question. biggrin

I often think that about certain songs. Any thoughts on where you think it would have fitted better?

Hmmm....if he took off the vinyl crackling sound it would kind of fit on MPLSoUND cuz imo it has the same feeling as "Better With Time". That would be way too many ballads though haha!

What about you? What songs would you place on another album?

wow I am surprised..

Noone mentioned Future Baby Mama,

Easily the great song on this album....

The rest is pretty weak if you ask me..

"Guitar" is yuck the worst single,

U2's early hit: "I Will Follow" is so much better (its the same song, and very much better)
