In 1988 Frank Lopes and Alex Poolman started a cover-band called, "De Nederlandse Prince & the Revolution". After several successful performances, "De Nederlandse Prince & the Revolution" had their last concert in Paradiso (Amsterdam) which was an amazing climax. There are several video-recordings of this period.

De Nederlandse "Prince & the Revolution"
cover band in 1988:
Frank Lopes - lead guitar, backing vocals
Alex Poolman - lead vocals
Gert Jan Kelder - keyboards, backing vocals
Sandra / Henny - rhythm guitar, backing vocals
Jennifer Moesker - keyboards, backing vocals
Jos Ottens / Martin - drums
Ferry Pocerattu - bass guitar
Herman - saxophone

I think that all of the pictures threads we've made have made it possible for many people to come to grips and deal with the loss of our beautiful Prince. People are slowly moving away from these pic threads, others are just starting to enjoy what we've been doing here. Speaking for myself I am doing the same, although I can't stay away completely and will come back and look at our gorgeous man, but won't really be participating so much anymore.

I know some will think people leaving is bad, but really it's not...it's the complete opposite, it's WONDERFUL that people have been able to come here to rest and heal and are finally able to make peace with his death. I have my on and off days, but it's better than it was. I'll never understand why he left us and never be able to accept more than I have to, but the best I can hope for is to learn to live with this new reality. I hope that others here who are struggling with this will also be able to come to that place too and heal, we ALL need to do this eventually and accept for our own sanity. Love you all and wish you well grouphug

4 mumio hug heart Maybe i was wrong in the pass when i asked why people left , looking at it now i was selfish. I understand now that what ever helps people best am happy for them always. xxx

Silly man, you know I adore you kisses Of course it wasn't wrong to ask about people leaving nor was it selfish. But you should know that YOU are also one of the people who've helped make it possible for others to move on. A big hug and a kisses for you. You've got a kind heart...we need more of that in our world.

That's a great way to put it - as much as I hate to see our little fam going separate ways, I'm sure we will all check back periodically... grouphug And I hope to meet up with at least some of you! Seriously, if any of you are ever in Minnie hit me up!!

As for me, I'm just enjoying the pics/gifs and being able to talk about P with people who get my obsession and don't knock me for it. I'm not going anywhere, but I think I've come to grips with his passing. I will always mourn the loss of what could have come (because we ALL KNOW there was so much more there) while looking forward to what will hopefully be released from the vault. He's still on constant rotation in my iPod.

I think I've moved from the constant sadness to just being happy that I was here at the same time as the most prolific, gifted artist EVER, and enjoying all the gifts he has left us. heart
