do u think they're looking at sales figures from the PP tours to gauge how much interest there will be in the tribute concert? maybe a smaller venue would cost a lot less to rent and could still be televised. i could live without purple seats i guess. i think i figured out what "tickets go on sale next month" might mean -- it might be talking about lunar months -- that was announced with the moon in leo, and the 'next' (virgo) month starts after mid-September! wink personally, a sale date after labor day would be easier for me financially smile

According to this Star Tribune article Mint Condition and The Time are confirmed for the event. I don't think that's enough to sell out a big stadium so I wonder who else will be on the bill? Shelby J posted something on FB about being there and Trevor Guy tweeted about it so I'm assuming the 3rd Eye girls will be there?

Details coming after Labor day?!?!?! This is getting ridiculous. I'm already gonna be in MPLS to celebrate his life with other fams but, unless the lineup is something spectacular, I'm probably not gonna go. I feel like they've been stringing us along for a month. I would have rather they just waited and didn't say anything about it until they had the contract signed, the ticket prices and sale dates set and at least a few performers. This debacle is just going to make it more difficult to have this concert earn the money they need to pay the bills. Londell and the other person they brought in were supposed to be advising them but it doesn't look like they're doing a very good job.

Agree 100% The closer it gets to the date the harder it will get for people to go. Mint Condition and The Time will not fill 50,000 some seats. Bad enough no Sheila E but if they can't get the Revolution either I see really no point in going.

Even though I agree that The Revolution and Sheila E should be there, the Revolution is already doing the events this weekend at First Avenue, maybe to them that is their way of holding tribute since it really is the place it all started...and don't feel the need to do another? I think that's totally acceptable. They SHOULD be there...but they might choose not to, that's not necessarily the organizers fault or choice.

.

As for Sheila, she is already booked that night. And like mentioned, already did her unforgettable BET tribute to him. Maybe that is her way of holding tribute and doesn't want to do another either. Who knows...she also has the right to decide either way - again, shouldn't be holding the organizers to blame if they can't get her or the Revolution in on this.

.

Maybe there will be just enough naysayers who boycott it for these reasons ...to leave enough tickets for those of us who'll appreciate the event as however it comes together as a benefit concert to remember and celebrate Prince and to help preserve Paisley Park etc. I'm going to MPLS no matter what - but if I'm lucky enough to score a ticket -I would much rather be amongst 50,000 others that WANT to be there and enjoy the event they've organized, than surrounded by a bunch of people grumbling that 'this person isn't coming, how could they even THINK to invite this person, this is going to suck, what were they thinking' etc etc'.

.

Not happy with the line-up? Stay home & leave the tickets for the rest of us that will be thumbs up! wink

The Associated Press is reporting that although numerous acts are being mentioned as possibilities for the tribute concert, the announcement of the actual lineup won't be issued until after Labor Day.

So....it sounds to me that they are trying to lead people on to believe that all of these great Prince Associated acts will be performing, TO SELL TICKETS, when in reality, all of them haven't even been confirmed to participate. Deceiving fans has never ended well. Trifling. disbelief

So Sheila E is out but with the Time retweeting what they did I bet they are in. The Revolution who knows? With Sheila E out and if they don't get the Revolution I don't think I will be going. sad I really feel bad for people that have booked flights and hotels. I hope you all don't get burned. I'm not booking anything until I have tickets in hand. At this point anything is possible. Different venue or even a different date.

I won't feel burned. First trip to Minnesota with tons of sites on my
List to see and a paisley tour. Tribute concert would just be

I can't believe how bady Prince's legacyis being treated already. Shady people. Maybe they were once good for Prince, but it looks like they are using their new-found power to solidify their own legacies.

I don't blame some of the old-guard associated artists for boycoting this event. They KNEW Prince for many more years than most and where there at pivotol moment in his career.

nod This is exactly how I am looking at it too. I think it's better that way than hanging the whole trip depending on that one event and then being crushed without it. We're going to have a blast highfive

I agree as well. My excitement for the concert has diminished but not for being there that week, meeting everyone and seeing all the sites. If they get this concert together and it's any good, that's great and I'll buy my ticket. If not, oh well...there's plenty of other things we can do to celebrate his life and legacy that night.

thumbs up! You all called it. Huge mess. So I'll have to decide to go ahead and make the trip 10/13 -even without the concert- since I already bought PP tickets. Honestly, I am so over the miscommunication about the concert and feeling manipulated by the estate reps. I am willing to boycott it at this point. Unless, The Revolution shows up-and plays for at least an hour, followed by Morris Day and the Time with Jerome Benton. Then I'll eat my words. biggrin

Wow....who cares about Sheila....if she doesn't want to contribute because of whatever reasons that's her choice...originally the 13th was open (I've been following her schedule) she recently booked that show knowing the tribute was planned for the 13...as they say in show biz gotta strike while the flames hot. LOve ya Morris and the time for committing hopefully npg and the rev will follow. I'd be happy with a blanket ....Prince up on screen and some dancing!!!!!a FUNKFEST memorial for Prince. grandpa yoda

woot! highfive I'm not coming in from Europe BUT coming in from Vancouver lol We definitely gotta arrange a 'fam social/mixer' - along with, of course, the First Ave tour, the Double feature movies, PP tour & PR locations, and the tribute show of course. smile I'll look into get together options for before and/or after the tribute show over the next few days. cool

However good or bad this goes there won't be a second. Thats why I have to be there. This is closure and I want it to be funky!

Last time I was over, Prince personally evicted me from PP, this time he can't so I'm going to make the most if it lol

I'm intending to do Bunkers/1st Avenue on the Wed Night, the Memorial on the Thurs Night (If I get a ticket), Fine Line on the Friday night and Calhoun/Uptown on the Saturday night.

In between of course I hope to do PP, purify my self in Minnatonka and splurge at Electric Fetus. I'm going to do this and I'm going to do it with a little tear in my eye and a smile on my face.

I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

I wondered in one sunny morning and security must have been on a break. Thinking I had got away with it, I wondered in, only to be confronted by P and the band. Prince politely asked me to turn around and be gone. I've never been evicted in such a nice manner.
