None of the listings for the new vinyls For You and Prince state the gram weight. Since 180g is a big selling point (less susceptible to warping, and -- less importantly -- the feeling of more product), they usually boast that front and center. So I'd be surprised if these 2016 remasters are 180. If they are, they're being very humble about it...lol.

If they should be cancelling anything, I would prefer they cancel the cassettes. Poor sound, rewinding, tape eating players....ugh.

So further to it being listed on VinylDestination here in AUS as the 19th July, it's now completly gone from the site.

Sounds good to me. Now that you mention it, the Dirty Mind release does feel thicker than the previous two (I went to take a feel earlier).

Just as a side note: Dirty Mind sounds wonderful. While it still sounds like demos, it sounds like cleaner demos. I was hearing keyboard parts I'd never really noticed before. "Gotta Broken Heart Again" stands out as a track with new clarity overall, for me.

I was BLOWN AWAY by how great the Dirty Mind reissue sounds. It's fucking amazing.

Yeah I have the 4 vinyl releases from 2011, and DM does sound great. They all do. You can tell for the remastering they toned down the highs a bit, so when you blast them, there's less distrortion. Gives it a fuller sound as well.

My original Parade and AWTIAD vinyls both sound excellent, so no need to ge new vinyls for those. I do have SOTT on preorder. Hopefully it gets shipped in Aug as advertised.

mods can we please get a sticky on all the upcoming vinyl reissues this year since many will be coming and there is much confusion amongst members saying certain albums have been re released, and cancelations??

Barnes and nobles website has the dates all listed just search for prince vinyl.

The bootleg pressings of PHASE 1 & PHASE 2 on VINYL are actually quite nice, the sound is great...

I posted that I purchased that album at a local store because I did. Amoeba Record Store in Hollywood had about 25 copies. It was pressed in Germany and has a promo sticker on it stating it has 2 lps and 2 cds. I was there tonight and there were still about 15 copies still left. If I knew how to upload pics that on my computer or phone I would. However, I don't know what reason I would have just to make that up though.

This was released in 1995 and it was rare in 1995 and no more were ever pressed, so why is it in 2016 it is assumed people will pay more just because Prince has passed.

Yes. That is not the re issue, that was the original European pressing back in 2009.

The reissue is supposed to be released in USA July 22.

Did ya'll know that there is a special day called Record Day when records order special vinyl. My record store says they are almost sure there will be some Prince collectables released that day. These will be special runs so lets say they want a purlple vinyl copy of Purple Rain for that day. They will print so many and when they are gone their gone-never to be reprinted in that format.

This year there printed Mo Money Mo Problems-Puffy, Biggie and Bad Boy Family in Money green.

One more thing about vinyl, you all remember that we went from cd's to digital. Aren't a lot of places making vinyl records so it is a get in where you fit in situation. IF they need to press Lemonade on vinyl, whay do you think they are going to do?
