PrintableThe diversity is one thing I have always loved about Prince music and the fans. Many of these songs are some of my favorites and I am sure some of my least favorite songs are someone else's favorites. I do not see how you can dismiss the entire 90s. Some great songs came from 90s.
I love Let's Pretend We're Married the song and his Mick Jagger impersonation in the video.
One fan's Joy in Repetition is another fan's Jughead.

I cringe any time I hear "International Lover"...feels like one hyper-extended, corny double-entendre aural assault. The over-abundant squeals (which, of course, I love like most others, but in this song, it all seems superfluous)...but most of all, the grammatical horror of the "...I anticipate a few turbulence along the way..."lyric. There are several I skip every time - "My Name is Prince" comes to mind - but for pure hatred, the version of "I would Die 4 U" they play on the radio, where they separate it from "Baby I'm a Star" with that abrupt echo-y reverb ending. HATE. IT.
And, naturally, PR is one of those albums I lost when my digital collection was lost several years ago, so in my grief I purchased it on iTunes the day he died - and it has the radio version I hate.  [Edited 7/12/16 22:37pm] | |

I lost track after 1994 a little so will restrict my list to 78-94. Sexuality - Dull Graffiti Bridge - pure cheese Diamonds & Pearls - See above My Name Is Prince / Sexy MF - I thought the Symbol album was more like old Prince after the commercial D&P. These opening songs are still are 'trend chasing' in my opinion. |

Yup, that's the case across all digital platforms, they use the single edit. I like the single edit meself but it has no place on the album. The PR CD can be picked up for peanuts though. | |

I don't hate any Prince song. Hate is a very strong feeling. Here are some I don't like though.
Lady Cab Driver: Don't understand the hype over this song. Extraloveable should've taken it's place. Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad: Sounds like such a bad 2nd attempt at I Wanna Be Your Lover Annie Christian: No explanation needed. Delirious: It's kinda annoying to me Take Me With U: I think the song isn't bad but Appollonia ruins it for me and it's the least memorable song from Purple Rain IMO Half of ATWIAD Most of Emancipation Rave Un2/In2 The Joy Fantastic Some songs on SOTT
