Okay...so I was just sitting here last night being me...in my own feelings and what not and suddenly I wanted to hear Power Fantastic. It's the one song I hadn't been able to bring myself to listen to but knew I eventually would...when I was ready. Apparently, I was more ready than I thought.

Of course I have the song on my hard drive but since I had a Youtube tab opened already, I thought I'd check to see if perhaps a "Live" performance of it has surfaced.


Anyhoo, the first thing I saw was this:




Upon watching I was pleasantly surprised and thought of it as a nice tribute to Prince the young lady did in honor of his passing but then I noticed the date it was published and continued reading.

PRINCE gave jaz permission to have this song on youtube: We are completely heartbroken with disbelief So honoured to have had the opportunity to spend time with U our big brother PriNce. The most down to earth, humbled person 1could ever meet.
We feel very priveliged to have had Prince arrange a special private meeting for jaz who was 9 at the time here in Australia in 2012.We spent almost 2hrs listening to his plans for jaz musical future even planning her very 1st concert with him & NPG in detail!
Jaz ( now 13) was to go under his guidance once she turned 18 as keyboardist and singer and even promised her a trip to Paisley Park and a private photoshoot with just him and her

Such a great loss, an icon gone way too soon. We will greatly miss U alwayz Brother Prince, but forever remembered in our hearts.

Thank U alwayz 4 believing in jaz and 4 sharing ur visions with us.Jaz will continue with her music journey as u would have expected.

That totally took me by surprise. I checked out some of Jaz's other videos and she really is quite talented. I hope she continues to go as far as Prince had wanted for her and beyond.

That was the first part of this experience. The second part came when I came here to post about it. I did a search for the young lady's name to be sure this wouldn't be the upteenth thread about it and I found nothing. Then something made me search for Power Fantastic by name and clicked only on the thread I marked becaused I liked it's title:

As it turns out, that's a thread I started a week before my 37th birthday and 8 months before the whole PFU situation and I ended up becoming HatrinaHaterwitz. It felt really good remembering how things used to be.

I guess I'm sharing this because I see so many people that seem so lost and honestly I feel that way sometimes myself but when I do, I go to my safe place and for me that always has been and forever will be-- Prince's music. To me that's where all the love, joy, happiness, fun, simply put...his essence...resides. Once there, I have no other choice but to "feel better, feel good, feel wonderful" because he left us all we need to do just that. It is my sincere wish for you to find that place for yourselves whenever you're ready, too!

Thank u for sharing this! He was/ is such an amazing human being! To take an interest in her really goes above and beyond... just another reflection of him as a person and the love he had to share and give (that I feel so blessed as a fan to have felt in my life for 34 years and counting). Oh, and by the way, she really did a beautiful job on the piano!!

This warms my heart. The ping pong story is so funny and cute. What a great man.

Just adorable...I can see why he took an interest in her-very talented. Kinda makes me think that if he had a daughter this is how he wouldve been with her. Great thread. Thanks for posting it.

I am so glad you all enjoyed this. She was 8 years old when she did it. That is just so awesome and endearing to me because I was 8 years old when Prince and his music became entwined in my life's story too. Do us all a favor, check out and share some of her other videos because she really is quite good and I think we can help her along the way.

As for Prince's version of Power Fantastic, I have ALWAYS adored it, as clearly exhibited in the link to the thread I posted but now even so much more. I cried...a whole lot...listening to it again last night. But my tears came from a place in my heart of pure love for Prince and what most of his music, truly meant to me. I'm so very grateful to still have and be able to embrace myself in that. I will never take that for granted again.
