Well, I obviously don't know who you work with, but I can tell you that no-one gets kicked out just like that for dress style, jewellery or makeup. Prince in his "JW years" was nowhere near a level that would get him as much as reprimanded.

I don't get the whole 3rd eye thing either, but he didn't exactly do this in secret, so if there was something that needed dealing with, it's been dealt with between him and his congregation elders. No-one gets a free pass regardless of status, and it's no-one else's business what was said to him on that. Or not.

The Bible is very clear on the subject of the occult, so it's not really a JW thing, more a Christian thing. But I know that many churches do accept it. We don't, but I can't tell you what went on behind closed doors and even if I knew I obviously wouldn't share his private affairs here.

I just know that he was a faithful and active member of his congregation and in good standing when he died. And that's all I need to know.

I hope this clears up a bit what our views are, even though I can't shed light on Prince's specific private situation.

(And that we can avoid the usual jw-bashing in this thread as it's getting rather old. biggrin)

As a newbie here, have y'all gone back and read your thread when Manuela posted on FB about Charlie Sheen and Prince in the same breath?

Scary stuff was said in that thread.....

I have no doubt whatsoever Prince was an ambiguous man. As someone said earlier this is what made him fascinating and why after several months I am still having a difficult time moving on. He captivated me for decades by his ambiguity.

Are the Akashic records the history of souls and their reincarnations part of JW belief? Please enlighten me.

Help me out here. I don't see anything in Anna Stesia that indicates the occult. Are you referring to the line "Between white and black, night and day Black night seemed like the only way... So I danced"? I don't interpret that as occultic.

exactly

You know where to go for the official info on jw beliefs: jw.org.

I'm not taking the bait, I can recognise trolling when I see it, ksgemini63. cool

I have already explained what I can on this subject.

I think the "higher self" line might b interpreted as "new age" which some people- not me- equate with the occult.

So he dabbled in the occult because he danced at night? Uhm.. That's a rather strict definition, I'd say. I don't see anything occult or even suspicious in those lyrics.

I am not trolling or disrespecting you I find no mention of 3rd eye enlightenment or akashic records on JW.org indicating to me Prince had expanded his belief system far beyond where his congregation led him. I am not a troll but do believe denying minors blood transfusions is wrong and no supreme being would want the death of an innocent. I do not care what JW.org says about. Murder and neglect is what it is.

Is having an opinion that differs trolling? Guess I am at a loss here then...it is not a JW world anymore than it is Catholic, Protestant or Jewish one... It is a diverse world. Peace
[Edited 7/10/16 9:53am]
I am puzzled why all the references to a web page and not scriptures. I believe Prince represented diversity despite maybe wrestling with it right after his "conversion"

Yes, you are trolling, I'm sorry, and you may not be here on the org to troll, but you nevertheless do so whenever Prince's chosen faith comes up.

No-one is murdering anyone. A sick child allegedly died, but how do you know if he or she would have been alive with a blood transfusion? The doctor can't even tell you that and you probably didn't speak to the doctor anyway. It's hearsay and I have heard enough of that type of thing over the years to know that the story is always different when you check the facts. Like the claim that Prince should have been kicked out for how he dressed etc. No. Not true either.

I have found mention of the 3rd eye on jw.org. Look again, if you're really interested, and if not we're just wasting our time anyway. wink

Website, not scriptures because you guys never look at it anyway when I've spent time finding something you asked for. That's why I call it trolling. You always ignore it and go back to new accusations. Also this is not P and R forum. I've told you what I can about Prince's relationship with his church re the clothes etc and the 3rd eye stuff etc. You want yet another fruitless discussion on jw, and I'm not taking that bait.

Prince died as an active and beloved member of his congregation - in good standing. That's the bottom line of his own choice. You and I can speculate till we're blue in the face, but this was his choice. Deal with it. biggrin

It's more likely he died indirectly because of the Witnesses ...deal with it doesn't seem to be a peaceful declaration it's ok. God Bless and I wish u well. Website instead of scriptures... Hmmm

You know full well that there are plenty of scriptures on that website. I see no problem with having to deal with the choices of others, but I'm sorry if you find it less than peaceful. Have a great day.
