The great 50 second mystery, help

I have a mystery to discuss involving the late great PRN, my musical father and patron saint of music.

Needless to say, but I will anyway, I have heard about 99.5% of what this musical genius has allowed us to hear.

As a multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, and audiophile, I have a deep understanding of what The Artist did both in the studio and on the stage.

In Detroit, at the age of 8 in 1979, I was holding Prince-Prince in my hands, my soul was awakened by what I was hearing coming through the speakers.

I mean really awakened yall.

Since then he has been everything musically to me, nothing compares, I toured the world as a musician literally because of this angel.

I miss him terribly but I digress,

Now to the mystery, I need your help explaining this, and prepare to be freaked out if ur a PRN geek like me.

The last CD release was a two disc set, Hit and Run Phase 1 and 2, I'm sure you know that,

In my opinion a victory lap for him, also containing some parting gems that make my cry because musically he was in such a free place,

Big City, This could b us, Groovy Potential, Stare, and many others just kill me,

The last song on Phase 2 is Big City, the very last recorded and released PRN song, on his last released CD,

The very last one before his passing, so a lot of weight and focus on this song, lots of cosmic energy in this song,

First time I heard it end his last last words are, no lie, "That's it", and then I thought my phone broke, silence, a loooooog silence!

Didn't pay that much attention at the time, thought it strange and moved on to another song,

Got home that night and listened to Phase 2 again all the way to the last song Big City, this time the album on loop,

His says "That's It" and Big City ends, and now I notice the silence expecting the first song to start again, what the heck I say?

I take it back to the ending, and find a huge empty, intentional silence after the last song!

Being a geek I decide to count the seconds from the moment the song ends, and it is exactly 50 seconds!!!!!

I have heard almost everything PRN has ever done in a studio, I mean ever!!

From Lovesexy being one long track, to every single fade at the end of a song, to every weird and innovative thing this man had done with audio in the studio,

NEVER had I heard an empty space of 50 seconds at the end of anything he had ever done,

Everything he did in the studio was intentional, always, every single sound and part was put there to kill you musically on purpose,

I can just see him in my head saying, "This is gon' kill em".

He says, "That's it" and the silence is deafening, like he wants you to realize what you are left with after he's gone,

But then my PRN geek gene kicks in, I say to myself 50 seconds, 50 seconds,

I subtract 57, his age at his passing, and am left with 7,

The number sticks out, he starts playing piano at age 7, he writes his first song at 7,

1 second for every year he has been playing music or writing music,

Are you a little freaked out? I am,

My question to you all is, Why 50 seconds?, why 50 seconds?, Why?

"That's it" and 50 seconds of deafening silence for his last released song!!!!

Did he know he was done? This and the Save your Prayers statement are freaking me out.

For me he was so mysterious in life and he has left one more mystery for me, and I'll never know the answer now because he's gone.

Ah the Prince mystique, delicious isn't it?

Well that's my first post on Prince.org after reading it forever, thanks to all of you who adore this man as much as I do,

RIP PRN you dear, dear man, G.O.A.T
