Afrofuturism in Time and Space

I know from threads I've seen over the years that there are several academics on here. I saw this call for papers and thought I'd throw it out here since I don't have the time to contribute anything.

Here's the call: https://call-for-papers.s...-and-space

I can think of a few good essays showcasing Prince's relationship to Afrofuturism. "NPG Bum Rush the Ship" / "The Exodus has Begun" from the Exodus album and the NPG albums' relationship to George Clinton's complicated P-Funk mythology, for instance. Intersections between pan-African sci-fi and the loose Vanilla Sky storyline in Art Official Age could be interesting too.

Just to be clear, I am unaffiliated with this and I'm not soliciting for anything.

Someone do this.

(If nothing else, maybe this can be a thread about sci-fi Prince.)

I'm noot qualified to ake this, but I hope someone will. Could be really interesting. Maybe Rainbow Children could be seen in this perspective as well?

Maybe "Family Name," I guess, with its reference to the Akashic Records.

Hmm, you'd be hard pressed to find anything consistent in his work. Maybe talk about his more esoteric beliefs in pyramids and general conspiracy theory stuff? I wouldn't be qualified on the area enough to write this but there's definitely a few threads that could be picked up on and explored.
