Me tooo!! That album is one of my all time faves; it was the reason I became an obsessed 11 year fan despite the lyrics to some of those songs being...not the best for that age. So glad my mom wasn't paying too much attention to what I was listening to.

I agree, I think so too. Plus he seems pretty in tune with his emotions imho - happy, sad, , or how else would they seep into each and every song and be felt the way they are.

That being said, I often wonder if those emotions from his childhood resurfaced during filming Purple Rain. The emotional scene in the basement where he tears it to shreds, he's really crying;'eye drop tears' don't usually drop from the eye that way and I can't see them breaking up that momentum to be like 'just wait, you need more water works' and then be all 'okay carry on'

Those are real tears, they come from all around his eye and his nose is running. It's almost like he's mad he's crying. It makes me sick to think of all his sadness. I know we all have things that we go through but I don't know why he makes you want to protect him and make the pain go away, now we can't.

Looks like they were having a good time...maybe with a little wine.
