Why do I CRY for Prince?

I cry and think it seems like a pity party because I won't see him ever again. Egocentric. Through his lyrics at age 12 I knew he would die young. He's in heaven now looking down and celebrating his time here. We should now celebrate April 21st, His rebirth in heaven. Love you Prince.
*******All 7 and we'll watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all*******

I feel the same way. I just don't get it (the way I feel) I've seen him in concert. Never met him in person or conversated with him. Yet....I feel like he's always been there? I just think there's some kind of likemindedness in many ways. I havn't always agreed with him (but I don't know all the facts of his viewpoints or perceptions..) But a part of me has died. I will move on and learn from my experience. Just hard to conceptualize. Just a new reality.

Because he touched your heart.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Because he was al lot closer to you, for a long time, than parts of your family and a lot of your friends.

I think that, like how a lot of people say that Prince's music was the soundtrack to their youth... that it's almost like one grew up wth him. Some have even described him as an older brother.

For me, I think of fun carefree days as a teenager when I was focussed on looking good and on the boys in my neighborhood - a fair bit of action even happened at 'the Northcote pools' as we'd call it razz lol ..and the radio would play hit music, among which would have been Prince's 80s stuff... This was for me, the part of his music that touched me the deepest.

So it is like I grew up with him almost.

I think that many many people feel this way about him. His music described their first major crush or the rush they got from being in love, or whatever it was.

This stuff you never forget.

Other than that, he was simply magnificent. A wonder of a talented musician. With his leaving the earth, I ask my self: What is there to really get excited about now...????!!!! sad He really had such a lot of magic about him.

I am so upset that I did not join an on line fan club or at the least, check my emails regularly - since I was a week out in paying attention regarding his Piano and a Microphone tour Oz -announced about a week before tickets went on sale and then the concerts a week after that. I did get the email, but on the arvo of the concert and it was $700 which I just couldn't afford. ...i may have actually spent the $400 eventhough money is tight, even without knowing he was going to die.

The only good that has come from this is that I have gone into: don't take anything for granted mode!!!! ...went to see Esperanza Spalding (who turns out Prince jammed with and supported) at the Melb Jazz festival, because I don't wanna miss out again, and check my email regularly in case anything ever should arise like before... Even being kinder to family just in case they die and I regret it.

...oh, another thing about Prince: he was like Willy Wonka, doing things that were so surprising and spontaneous and going that extra mile.

He was just plain amazing. lol

Prince embodied a very full expression of human creativity ... something as humans we all desire to achieve in our own way. Part of why I cry is because of the beauty of his expression .. the other part is my lack of exploring my own creative expression.

Show your heart to me.

Prince helped us know ourselves and stimulated our love for the creative.

He's in our homes, our cars, our headphones. It's very personal.

It's natural you feel like this.... It's also healthy.

I just always thought that I'd see him in concert again. After 30 something years, there's a hole in my heart where he use to be.
