When Doves Cry, this was my first introduction to Prince and a really, really amazing song that I love. Will always hold a special place in my heart.

...and forcing you to pick ONE and only ONE Prince song as your favorite. No namby-pamby, I-can't-make-up-my-mind lists, but ONE song. What would it be? Mine is "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore". As a piano player, I love just him and the simple instrument. The bridge build-up gives me chills!

Well since I have loved Prince since 1979, you can just shoot me....... #LoveU4EverMyPrince💜💜💜

LMAO!!!

Not 2 original, but it's When Doves Cry 4 me.... I remember hearing on the radio for the 1st time...just draw-dropping...I remember buying the 7" single and taking it home and playing it over and over...and then how it amazing it was to turn it over and hear 17 days!!!! it was obviously overplayed back in the day... and it's not the first song I always go 4, but I have never been able to turn it off when it comes on...it will always be #1 for me!!

Darling Nikki - great, slow intro w/ synth and guitars...best ending ever...ethereal..backwards tape fading into the rain. That ending is heaven on earth.

Alexa de Paris (Extended).

It may seem unusual to pick a track that doesn't feature any of his vocal capabilities, but to me it's his Albatross / Watermelon in Easter Hay (and twice as beautiful as either of them).

It's also usually the first track I play when trying to convert somebody for whom he up until that point has been 'that Purple Rain guy', and it usually works.

It's one of my favorites, too. It's just so...happy. You just know he was in an amazing place when he did this one.
