A petition

This thread is intended to let Prince’s family, friends, and fams on the org know the amount of people on the org that want to know the toxicology report, the autopsy report, and the truth about Prince’s death, even if there is something that might be judged in a poor manner by someone such as painkillers found in his blood or AIDS or anything else.

Again, please reply with a comment ONLY if you want to know the honest truth about Prince’s death, without the fear of judgment from the public. Let’s keep this here and make this the org petition. Please do not sign by leaving a comment if you do not want to know the honest truth including the full details about why Prince died. This is not a thread for negative comments. Again, please ONLY leave a comment if you want to know the truth, even if that means Prince might be misjudged.

I’ll start with the first post and why I want to know the complete details. This thread was inspired by Superfan1984’s post at the tail end of another thread but I didn’t want his suggestion to go to waste so I started this new thread.

This is an effort to start this org petition so his family knows why it is important to us to know full detail, or as much as possible, as to what happened.

I do not mean to offend anyone by this thread.

I want to know everything!

Because I feel like I knew Prince.

To help put together the pieces of this puzzle together.

Prince was my father figure.

My father wasn't there for me.

But Prince always was...

on hi-fi stereo headphones

closer to me than my real father was

and for countless hours

through the good...

and more importantly through the darkest times of my life

and always with a new positive message for me to follow.

I met Prince. Twice.

But I didn't know him well...

so why do I feel this way?

Because of the power of his music!

Through his music, we became family.

I honestly feel like I lost a member of my family.

The closest member of my family.

I cried two-three times over each of my grandparents passing.

I've cried over 10 times for Prince.

And still counting.

That's why I want to know everything.

To be able to put all the pieces together of what feels like my closest family member's passing.

It will help me grieve if I can make some sort of sense of everything.

I do not judge.

I just want a better understanding to help with my grieving.

Since I was 9 years old Prince was music to me and like a family member. His fans genuinely loved him and I hope and pray that his family will allow us to know what happened to our musical hero. No judgement...just need to process his death and get closure.

I think we need to accept that even if we want to know and we feel we should, it's still actually not our business how he died. It's just not. He gave us so much in life, if he maintains his privacy in death that's okay for me.

I thought the same too and someone really blasted me for that. They said he was a public figure. He sold out stadiums and we bought his music, listened to him , he sold himself to us and that means we do have a right to know. You cannot make millions from us as he has done and then expect us not to know anything about his life and what happned.

I am in two minds about it all.

Idk I just feel like he gave us everything he could. And paid a hefty price for it (hip pain leads to pill use...) I actually hate when people speculate and demand a cause of death explanation outside of family because it's like "for why tho?" Idk I have my own specific views on death anyway. It's so intimate.

No offence to the original poster or anyone else but I agree also. Prince was a private man and although I would like to know what happened to him, it's not our place as fans to demand this type of information. It's intrusive. Let him be.

In defense of the original poster, the petition is to let the family know that we WANT to know the truth and that it is IMPORTANT to us as fans. No demands were made. If they decide against making it public, I'm sure the world will still keep turning. We look at losing Prince like losing someone in the family; it shouldn't be demeaned to want to know what really happened. Again, I didn't read any demands in the original poster's post.

If they've got to tell us anything, I'd rather it was the truth than the lies, so yes count me in please, for the exact same reasons you have cited. hug

Prince owed us nothing in life and owes us nothing in death. We are the debtors in this relationship.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Some of us have put a HECK of a lot of money in Prince's pockets; in other words, he gave plenty to us and some of us gave plenty to him. I wouldn't phrase it like Prince only gave and we only took; wanting to know the truth about why he died is quite a resonable request.

While I hope to know from his family the truth, he or they owe me nothing. He gave me nearly 40 years of music and much of it, I am still discovering (since I was a "hits" fan up until coming to this site). It's been like the gift that keeps giving. heart

Exactly. I'll pretend he died from a broken heart. His ol'silly romantic self. Xoxo

I'd rather that then his business all over the tv.
Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.

None of it is any of our business. Let him rest in peace for chrissakes.

No matter what is released to the public, it doesn't change the fact that he's dead.

The family knows that there are some fans that don't respect this. Hopefully they know that those folks are the minority and most fans respect the family and authorities decisions on this matter.

Everything else is just disrespectful.

If your relationship with Prince was purely a transactional one, we really have nothing worthwhile to say to one another. shrug

That is exactly what I meant. This is a petition just to let the family know how many of us on the org want to know the truth and why. This thread was not intended to cause a debate.

Your silhouette is so stationary
You're released but your custody calls
And I want to be free
Don't you want to be free
you were so lonely you played with anyone girls or boys
It's not confusing these days
Moondust will cover you
Cover you

This chaos is killing me
