Have you reached the Anger stage by now? I HAVE!!

Guys I need your help. I know that I've reached the anger stage of grief now. No denying. I'm cynical about other performers and I think they are all jealous of Prince.

-

Right now I'm thinking, OK, let me get this straight.

-

How fair is life?

-

You mean to tell me that Alexander O’Neal, James Debarge (and others in that family), Bobby Brown, Nikki Sixx, Steven Tyler, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Jimmy Page AND Cortney Love and Liza Minelli are still walking around.

-

And Prince is dead?

-

I may love all of the above mentioned and glad they are still with us (well, most of them), it just goes to show you, you can tempt fate all you like. Some will win. And some will lose. It’s a crap shoot. Win or lose.

-

The Universe is moody. And it ain’t even funny.

Damn.

-

See what I mean?

-

How are you dealing with anger about Prince's passing? Any advice will be appreciated.

sad

Genius is born, not made. Prince is a Genius. No question. RIP Legend.

my love for Prince doesn't translate to hate for other artists

i did have a thought the other day though... music should just kinda stop for a while... i mean all music... until we reach an appropriate period of time for grieving (i don't know how long that is) the greatest musical force the world will ever see... because right now... music just seems a bit ridiculous to me... it doesn't matter any more

I've had one moment like that and it upset me, but thankfully I haven't felt angry too much - just immensely sad. Like Bliss, no other music seems to matter right now - it all sounds wrong to me at the moment.

Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

There's been A LOT of that the past day, unfortunately. I'm sure that's not how Prince would have wanted it. neutral

I appreciate everyone's comments.

Just so I'm clear, I only mentioned ones who tempted fate with their lifestyle choices. That is where the comparison came in, and that is where it ends.

Also, I do not believe that my love for Prince has translated into hate for other artists. I don't hate the people I mentioned. I am cyncial though. That's alot different from hate.

Again, I'm only talking about who I mentioned. No one else.

Genius is born, not made. Prince is a Genius. No question. RIP Legend.

Mine doesn't either. I don't hate the artists that I mentioned. I'm clear on that.

I had some anger as the details started to come out about him being hours away from help, & reflecting on the plane landing the week before - that the situation was dire, & no one was with him 24/7 until that help arrived. I was angry that complete untalented bums are still on the planet thinking they're important, & they are fucking sand. Clearly, I can get back to anger very easily falloff but I'm just trying to deal at this point sad

heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Yep, that whole thing about the timing is just awful to think about. Makes me so sad.

And this is exactly what I mean, alot of self-righteous people telling the world that they are a genius but they clearly are not. All that makes me angry because Prince really is a genius.

I really appreciate your comment. smile

I've just been a bit angry with myself for not going to see him again since 2007 and not telling him clearly what he meant to me whilst he was holding my hand and giving me a chance to say something to him (there was a long pause). We had had a few interactions over the course of several aftershows, in the Summer of 2007 and he ended up inviting me onstage. I thanked him but I also wanted to hug him. Given the chance again, I would without hesitation. Lesson for me: make the most of the people you care about and tell them you love them whilst they're still here. And that doesn't just go for Prince.

I know exactly what you mean about others tempting fate & yet they're still here, no need to even explain it. I thought about Keith Richards' rotten ass falloff but that bitch may just be a zombie they cart out for shows, who knows razz It's just not fair - the world has lost something AMAZING, & all the hurt in the world can't bring him back & I fucking HATE IT bheart

I'm cracking up on the bolded part! I can picture them rolling Keith out and Mick just ignoring him like always. lol lol (thanks for that, I needed that laugh)

I feel you 100%. I'm trying to be in the emotion of love all the time. But I am no Saint. It's just not working right now. I hate that he's gone. mad

WoW. You are so lucky. What a wonderful experience that must have been. He must have known how grateful you were.

I like his saying, 'Be wild'. I think your story has helped me because when these things happen, like a chance in a lifetime, why not 'Be wild' and just go for it!

But at least you have those beautiful memories. It must have been awesome to have him dancing and singing onstage and you being right there. Cherish that memory. flower

Am still very sad about his passing and miss him so much. Am angry with a couple of people on the org, people who seem to be showing Prince disrespect even after his death. Saying his legacy won't last as long as Stevie Wonder's. It's childish. Both are legends and respected outside the org too. Someone wrote that Marvin Gaye, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder are all better and Prince is not on their level well that's all opinions. This a Prince Fan site who many here love him and we have just lost him. Too much disrespect to Prince and all the above on this site. Sorry for the rant. Opinions are cool , but when it's getting silly and nasty i don't get it. This is a cool place and 99% of people are cool and lovely on this site. Sorry i went off topic and i miss Prince so much.

Thank you for cheering me up. I do cherish the experience, but at the same time, I keep having those flashbacks and they are quite heavy and painful to deal with and make me miss him intensely.

Don't know about anger, but I can't listen to any other music at the moment. Haven't since April 21. It just seems amateurish in comparison, no matter who's playing/singing.

And don't even get me started on the likes of Bieber.. Different strokes for different folks indeed.. cool

Yeah I m angry at a few things.

Recently people around here. I'm only a new signed up member, been coming here for years and usually would stop because of stuff that was said. Now it's
Like a connection to him I don't want to lose but...

All vitriol over the tributes is just too much. I'm not going to defend Madonna, I didn't watch it because I knew it wasn't for me. It was for casual Prince fans or even non-Prince fans.

I'm hurt by some of the racist and homophobic stuff I'm reading here... I just want all that to be over. We lost Prince, music is "over"- can't some of the evil in the world be over just like that as well?

I feel a loneliness like I've never felt before. I'm scared for the world and there's no Prince to look forward to. It's a real bummer.
Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.

I did feel very angry the other day when someone close to me said something along the lines of:"Prince ripped a lot of other people's work and there was nothing really that special about him." I felt an anger blood rush and I had to leave the room. I think these kinds of people are best avoided.

I think I went through all the stages in under a week. I love him but he wasn't a friend or true loved one.

Sometimes I ignore sympathy and empathy and just think "get a grip".

Why the dislike of Keith? Hugely influential to tens of thousands of musicians and guitarists. Great documentary on netflix as well.
