I believe Prince was always under appreciated, especially during the height of his fame mid to late 80's. I've said it many times on other boards for years. Just an example, he has only 7 Grammys his entire illustrious career. Some, who shall not be mentioned, have won 5, 6 in one night. I'll never get over this. | |

But Prince was appreciated by many, not as much as he deserved, but that appreciation tends to feed one's ego and God knows that man didn't need more of that. This kind of statement describes Michael Jackson's situation more than it does Prince. Love is God,

i didn't feel he was truly appreciated for being the true musical genius that he was. his creativeness, risk taking, experimenting with different sounds, genres, fashion, dancer, etc., not to mention, just his musical talent alone, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, singer, producer. now people even realize his philanthropic work. | |

I disagree. Prince got mad respect everywhere he went. As Jimmy Fallon said, when he came to the stage, the crowd parted like the red sea. You hardly see ANYONE get that kind of respect nowadays. Plus, she comes across like she's "in the know" and it comes off as arrogant. | |

When I see people like her, Linda Wells, or Madonna, who probably didn't know him very well coming out and speaking about him with authority, I can't help but remember an old saying my dad used to say: "Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one, and most of 'em stink."
Who cares what those fools think. To me, and this is must my opinion,my relationship with Prince and his art is between him and me. What those songs, videos, movies, books and even tweets mean to me is personal. If I share any of that with anyone, particularly folks here on the .org, it's because ya'll know what I'm talking about! Ya'll stay funky and ignore the haters, and fakers. | |

Prince is and was a treasure, he breathed music so much and earned and owned his place on the musical landscape so much that people including my damn self assumed he was around for good and took him for granted, I don't begrudge people that if they are now shocked and telling stories about their run in with him, their recording with him,their fling with him or the moment they knew they loved his music, its all good ** do something,before we're gone , and we're just a rock where a world went wrong...** | |

Has Jackie Swanson said anything about Prince? She was the girl in Raspberry Bert video and played Kelly, Woody's girlfriend on Cheers. I heard they were good friends. She still looks great.
