Art Official Age -Lyrics Hi,
Bought this album today and I am annoyed with my self for having my head in the sand for so long -
ADVICE to hard core fans: pity people like me, who took a genius talent like Prince for granted and paid more of the attention warranted a talent like his when it was too late
...In any case, I could not help noticing lyrics in more than one song that involved "Mr Nelson" being spoken to by a nurse or some other healer/a person giving him some form of treatment - spiritual treatment was implied, for instance communicating via "telepathy" is mentioned. ...I would have to go over it a fair bit to remember exactly what was said.
However it was said that he had been given medication that kept him in a state of ....... (I think it was something along the lines of suspended animation) for 40 something years.... these were the lyrics said by a female (nurse personality).
I think it was just to suggest some clever story line to the song -whether it be about his spiritual awakening, or a joke about the loss in popularity since the 80s/90s.
....But, it did make me wonder whether it was not INSPIRED by real life treatments that Prince was receiving.
...On youtube, viewing a recording of his Piano and a Microphone tour, one person commented that she believed that this was his Farewell Tour.

there was a comment in another thread, can't remember where, someone said that several songs on AoA were suggestive of a medical issue, treatments,etc. now that i am looking for it, i can see it too. he always said he spoke through the music. makes ya wonder. if it does turn out he had an illness, i am sure people will be posting numerous song references that will all make sense sigh.... Art Offical Cage is a brilliant song. AOA is a great album that take a while to appreciate, but so do most of his albums | |

ive always thought the 1st two verses of "U Know" is very revealing as far as what some people believe to be the very dark side of the music/entertainment industry...if he was saying what i think he was saying, it confirms some things... |

Since the girl talking (I believe it's Lianne La Havas) mentions telepathy, I always understood it to mean that someone from the other side is talking to him since there's the belief that we speak in telepathy in that other dimension, heaven, other side, or whatever you want to call it. I even think Breakdown is not just a typical break up song, but it's about someone who wasn't here physically. Then you add Way Back Home and you realized Prince felt he he was ready to go home. I know there's no point in speculating, but humans are curious creatures who like to make sense of things, even if there isn't any sense in it like death. Love is God,

Well, I Love..... Song " This Could Be Us " I remember dropping everything I was doing when I ( read ) the lyric.... I was like .... this sounds like a sweet chasing romance .... story... I was on Fb busying myself...with thoughts, I had just finished a poem I believe called "Mirrors" I received one those notice from a friend about a Prince page so I hopped over to checked it out seen song " This Could Be Us " But couldn't play it.... so I goggled the song any lyrics .... instantly loved it !!! Requested if it could be played then came back it was a featured Vid!!!! Fell in love!!!! With the Song☆ Not sure how that fits in with the thread but loves the whole AOA..... Sounds like he speaks of the dark side of fame & biz world and the requirements also sound as if he's speaking of love interest, and her per say issue with maybe having some sexuality mingling... with someone who wasn't worthy.
