Short clip Prince's performance in Atlanta - now available

I have already posted about this a few days ago, but sadly cannot find the thread any longer. I was referring to a close-up video of Prince's last performance in Atlanta (2nd set) that I had seen and how beautifully moving it was. But since the video had been nearly immediately removed from YouTube, we could not see it any longer. Well I have just seen this video again, as it is now shared on Morris Day And The Time's Facebook page, and it is currently there for those who are interested to see it.

It may stir up some strong emotions in some of you, so please, do not watch it you feel that you are not ready yet.

Peace to you all dove

It looks like this one has been edited, in the original one I had seen, his head / face was more visible with more space around it ; in this one it looks like the size of the frame has been reduced. The clip is also much shorter. Still good to see how his voice was still so powerful and could convey so much emotion.

Thank you so much!

Is anyone else having trouble getting it to play in firefox?

You're welcome CandaceS smile I use Google Chrome and it works fine (bearing in mind the video quality is not that great).

Bittersweet, yes, but I think there is another way we can think about the performance as well. For example, I like the way he ends the set by a) leaning back with his face towards the heavens as if to allow the Purple Rain to wash over him and cleanse him, and b) standing up, grabbing the mic in his right hand and raising it triumphantly above his head, as if to say, "Thank you for everything!" or "I came, I saw, I conquered!" These images comfort me. He was much too thin, but I like the triumphant nature of his final stance. The brother ruled and he knew it--we all knew it, and will continue to know it until the end of time.

Yes, those were my initial impressions when I originally saw it and I too felt comforted to see his strength and determination despite the somewhat weaker physical appearance.

Can anyone hear what words he sings after "I went to the Doctor, guess what he told me guess what he told me, he said Prince! [...?] not matter what you do"

And I guess that's what he was trying to do... "have fun" in spite of everything, and he did. God rest his soul, he deserves it. I hope we'll see him up there one day and that we'll all have a party together. grouphug

Don't know about you guys, but the more I watch and listen to the bit starting at 0:38, the more it sounds like: "Went to the doctor guess what he told me, guess what he told me, he said Prince! You might not go that far no matter what you do". I know, it won't change a thing, but can someone else please have a proper listen and tell me what they think...

I'd like to watch the video, but can't seem to find the facebook account you are referring to, the Morris Day account I mean, there are a few but none of them links to a time line with this content.
