Prince's performance of 'The Ladder' - New Zealand 2016 I'm wondering if Prince knew he was coming to the end of his life and left a few clues in his performances. During his performance of 'The Ladder' in Auckland earlier this year he said it meant a lot to him that night. He then sang the line "How this story started and how it will end..." Then he really emphasised and repeated the "how will it end?" lyric. The whole show is tinged with nostalgia and sadness, but maybe that's just because it's so sad to hear him now. Maybe I'm wrong but my instinct is all was not well and he knew it. “Tuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!” | |

He also assured us that night that despite it being his first time here, it won't be his last. Now while that's consistent with the kind of flippant thing musicians throw about to a crowd, it seems unlikely someone would say that if they knew they'd be gone soon. Imporant to remember the misses as well as the hits when building a potential picture of what you think he did or did not know. True. He even spoke of shows this Summer in Paisley Park. I've been listening to a lot of recent stuff and there's a theme there. It could just be a part of his general vibe. No and no. Prince used themes like this throughout his career. With your logic "Sometimes it Snows in April" would have been his final statement. I hate to say this, but you are not going find any anwsers in the music no matter how much you insist there are no hidden messages, nor is there anything referring to Prince's death.
