Wow, Paisley Park is a recording studio owned by Prince. I hope it will be remembered as just that. I fear that the wierd fans will riun it for everyone else by treating it like a shrine. If they ever open the doors to the public, I just know some fans will run to that elevator and worship it like some kind of alter. Yes, Paisley Park would be interesting to see, just because it is a famous recording studio. Just imagine what his family thinks when they might read posts like yours. I am sure they would be disturbed.

If he had to die anywhere, I'm glad he was there. It was his home. I like to think that maybe his last hours were spent quietly working on his music.

If he'd died whilst on tour etc the media circus would have been even worse. As it is, it seems like he was well loved in his hometown, and local people have been protective and defensive of him.

Oh lord, please stop making Prince sound like some kind of god. He was a man who made wonderful music and was a great showman. You all make it sound like going to Paisley Park is like going to the holy land. Just stop it.

I see we are starting to move into acceptance and start being real. I had never thought about Prince's spirit haunting PP. That wasn't what I started to post but it just popped in my mind. Noone makes statements about Elvis fans and Graceland... lets face it, if it becames a museum, the fans will be the ones sustaining it. Nothing worse than to see a museum fold due to lack of support.

Holy is not the right word, I think for me PP will have special place, can't find the right word so holy will have to do. Now when I saw PP is holy not like in my faith holy, but holy in that someone I totally got musically, someone ... so funny I can't put it in words.

The first time I saw Prince I cried because I had spent about 15-16 years waiting to be in the position to by my one Prince ticket and take myself to the contcert. My parents were cool but they had their limits. The only reason I got to see Purple Rain is because I somehow spent the summer with my aunt in Houston . SO I had 15 years if pintup energy, anticipation, and excitment to go see Prince. So while PP isn't "holy" is sure as hell means more to me than a lot of the places that I have visited. SO I will make a trip up and hope to get inside and if I have an experience I will let you know. But for the record, I have develped a fear of statues, so no statues.

You do know that Paisley Park is not open to the public, right? You will not get inside, you will be turned away very quickly.

I went to the Celebration events in 2000 and 2001. So those type of events or something similar. They wont be as grand as those events were. For he is gone.

i'm so glad I got to go to the Celebration in 2002. It made everything real, you could walk up and talk to Eric Leeds, Sheila E, Kirky J... see Prince walking by, hear him rehearsing... folllow his car to the movie theater.... crash 8 deep in a motel with international folks that you can play all kinds of jokes on... ask your waiter for a Prince story... and you would get one!

Touch the fake trees that seemed to be the same ones on the SOTT cover...

Talk to Femi Jiya about music at the mixing board.... and I knew his name from seeing it on the I Wish U Heaven 12" back in '88! I never imgained I would meet with and even get a goodbye from him in the last night. (Femi, not Prince!)

Hey tish9311, what you just said was beautiful, and I too hope to make it back to Paisley, having already been inside. Wayhome-they are DECIDING on if they want to make it into a museum so that fans can go visit. Do not say she will be quickly turned away, because you do not know that 100%. We do not know when PP will be open to the public, but I do hope that they go that route. Don't make people feel bad and rain on people's parade, or take away people's joy. We are all here to celebrate him and work on our grief. I never post anything negative, but I just had to say something this time. Not cool Wayhome. Not cool.

To me going to PP will be like going to visit a the house in Memphis that was a stop on the Underground Railroad. All over that house you could feel spirits and energy, I know it wasn't just me feeling things. That land is not holy but it is in a way.

I find that crazy talk does not help some of the fans here to heal and move forward. we all wish Prince was here alive, we all know that he is not.
